Can anyone help me with my 97 cyclone rebuild.I'm almost fully re-assembled and can't figure out what stops the rear caliper from rolling backward on a reverse brake. It has the small swingarm w/ a pocket molded on the inside rail. There is a hex bolt that screws in from the outside which stops thecaliper from rolling fwd. |

Nice clean look! I like it. Did you do the forks? If yes, does it handle better/different? |

Yeah Hugie, I fitted them, they are noticably smoother around town, I can hardly feel anything through the bars. The bike seems to turn better as well, feels more planted. I haven't been out of town yet as the weathers crappy, I'll let you know how they feel at speed when I do. Trouble is it makes the rear feel like crap now} |

Thanks for the props guys! Mick, you did what I've been toying around with for a while. Is that a X1 front end Triple tree down? Every time I take it out for a spin I can't believe someone basically gave it away. I got it while working at a motorcycle shop. The guy's son just had to have a GSXR600 and wanted to trade it in, which being a metric shop was a no go, but telling the shop owner I already had a buyer for it sealed the deal. I'll take a 01' in 02' for $4k any day (Esp with race kit and 632 miles!) !! Although I have been tempted to get some spare plastic and paint/powder coat it all blacked out with slight chrome accents a la the old Vincent Black Shadow. Well, I did have an X1, XB, FXD, XL1200, Triumph and a few other toys in there to kill some time in between Tuners.

Hollywood , the tripples , forks and guard are off an S3 (picked up a complete front end with controls, caliper , wheels ,tank and bodywork for 800$ aus), headlight mounts are X1. but I'm still playing around with the headlight ,gotta modify the mounts a bit to get the headlight in further. The Forks are definately way better, bumpy corners that unsettled the bike previously are now no problem. They make the back end feel like crap now tho Heres a better pic |

Mick Have you lost your accent? Firemanjim is talking about God and tubers in another post can't see you passing that up. As good as that M2/3 looks I know that you have a ULY hidden in the back of the garage. Joe (Message edited by bad_karma on May 02, 2008) |

Here's a pic of the morning I left from Colorado to California. Ventura pack/rack, back pack and cargo straps. Enough space for a 1.25 gallon gas can in the Ventura pack.
