Rocket, Every homecoming has always had "exclusive access" to the factory. That was the part where you would take a tour of the factory and also included a free lunch and ability to shop at the factory store. You had to have a wristband to do this every year. They have never stopped people from hanging out in the parking lot in the past and i would be amazed if they would this yera. |

Be calm . . . I'm betting things will work out marvelously. It would be a shame to see anyone miss this over a couple mouse clicks. It's going to work out wonderfully.

Sometimes when something tries to be too big it loses touch with many of those who support it. The Thursday night buffet dinner sounds like it could be nice, but at $50/head I'll be elsewhere. I'll probably pop for the $55 ticket package since I've never been to a RA race before. Just need to know how bad traffic will be getting in and out of there on a bike, I might need to head out and come back later if something comes up. And where's the Victorian Village Tiki Bar? Is that on the RA grounds, or is it down in Elkhart Lake someplace? How's the seating there? Indoors or outdoors? How's the parking there as well? And is it someplace like Siebkens (sp?) with standing room only? |

RoadAmerica ticket options for those who's plans or needs dictate a personalized or limited option. |

Mike the Victorian is basically on the same grounds as Siebkens. Erik will most likely start playing around 7 or 8ish. So the ride back to the host hotel for most is a haul. If he is indeed going to play by me on the 3rd your a heck of alot closer. |

Road America is generally a breeze to get in and out of. You should have no problems. The Tiki Bar is the outside (invented by the much heralded Al Fresco) is about a 5 minute walk across the street from Siebkens. It's an outside bar that was overrun with "spirited" gals at a bachelorette party the last time we are there. The place is best known for the reputation that Bomber and Road Thing gave it when they road off into the the sunset in matching leather jackets. Many stories will be told there. The folks seem to have sort of lost touch with the whole deal over the "dinner in addition to" deal but ya know what . . . t'aint that big of a deal. There is going to be tons to do, it's going to be a great time and I'm not letting a few logistical snafu's Shanghai a great time. The nice folks at Harley-Davidson . . . well, they think like Harley-Davidson when it comes to event planning. The good news is that they are wonderful people doing the best they can . . . I'm all for going and just having a good time. I see another opportunity as well . . . since most the folks on Badweb are on diets . . . there will surely be plenty of leftover food! Anyway . . . . I'm going to go . . . tell stories. . . continue a tradition started with John Mikosh about the time Buell introduced a radical new model (The RS-1200 Westwind) and just have a good time. |

MikeJ, Access into RA on a bike will be very good. You will spend a little time in line and perhaps some more in traffic getting to the Buell tent. This is dependent on timing, the earlier you get the the easier it is. Mid day is the worst for coming in but never bad IMHO. Getting out at the end of racing is a slow process, I usually hang out for a while and then leave after the traffic clears. Leaving BEFORE the end of racing is usually very easy. The Tiki bar is across the street from Seibkens. Parking is on the streets. There is seating but not a lot, it is like Seibkens or any other Saturday night bar, seating is at a premium. It is outside so you can sit on the hillside if you like. Real nice spot overlooking the lake. If you come to Seibkens right from the race track you can get a place to sit. BTW I think they include food vouchers with the track ticket, they have the last few years. As for the event changing; it is inevitable that as Buell grows the Homecoming event will continue to get more formal. This year will likely have more people in attendance than any before it and will not be surpassed for a few years. Without changes it would be a disaster. |

Is this at that big resort place by the lake in town there? Basically, park bike, shut off engine, remove helmet, then follow your ears? If so, got it. ""dinner in addition to" " Dinner, Erik, engineers, seminars, Q&A. Are there some details missing for the dinner option? Sell me on it, the wallet's currently empty, but the ears are clear and open. The wallet fluctuates. |

"get more formal." I will refuse to wear a tie to this event. Mrs. will be off work so we'll be two-up on the FLT most likely. I'm thinking for Saturday we might have to bug out a bit early to take care of the dogs, then head back for the evening stuff. A couple extra miles on the bike, but gives more options and flexibility to the plans. John, We'll probably just hang out around Port on Thursday night, walk the dogs down to the lake for a swim, so forth. Thanks for the ride offer though. Port also usually has a decent 4th of July fireworks display if the Fish Day doesn't blow their budget for it. |

The dinner will likely be fun. Erik will likely tell stories he shouldn't. Some surprises may happen. I think it is an experiment so we won't know until we go. I have always had a good time at these things so I see no reason why I won't again. |

I've never attended a Buell event that wasn't an incredible bargain for what I got. If the dinner is 50 bucks for a buffet, then I'm willing to bet that there'll be something that will make it a bargain. ( Hell, I paid fifty bucks to eat BBQ and hear Erik speak at the Larz Andersen Museum; and it was well worth the price) At any rate, I'll be there. |

This is likely the only time I will make it to a Homecoming event. $55 for the 25th Anniversary package seems like a bargain to me... even if I didn't particpate in all the things that come with it. By the way... There is a slight possiblity I MAY not use my track day pass. I'll know more as the time gets closer, but if I don't use it I'll be more than happy to give it to someone else FREE!!! |

Well I finally got the GF registered and she had to do it herself. It is impossible to add anyone without registering again, I did not want to register twice! We decided to do the dinner, buffet deal, since I do not know if we will be able to make another homecoming. I think it will be well worth it. I was shocked that I was able to get her in on that as I thought it would have already been filled up. I have met very few people from the Buell company but I was impressed with all I have met so far, I am looking forward to meeting not only Mr Buell but the people from the BadWeb as well. I think that was one of the best things about MBV is being able to put a person with a name and meet all the interesting characters in person. Of course the best thing is being able to have Lynn participate with me and share my passion. Frank |

Don't be confused with all the PR goggleby-blog in the media. Here's the inside scoop and it's pretty well held true since a dozen of us gathered in the late 80's. Anyway you slice it . . . well, it's just plain going to be a good time. Buell attract the most amazing group of fascinating folks. The dinner will be fun but the best time will be the standing around, talking, making new friends and laughing in the parking lot. It will be an absolute hoot and for weeks after you'll get to hear folks proclaim that "Jon, Erik and all the folks just seem like normal folks . . .like the guys I ride with". Guess what? . . . they are and they'll be having just as much fun as you! |

Just called the Sheraton for reservations. The rate is $80, which is almost 40% off their regular priced rooms. The rooms are under a "Group Block". Have the reservation folks look up "Harley-Davidson Buell Anniversary" When they looked for Buell, it didn't exist.. Go figure! =) First "Homecoming" really looking forward to it! Slabbin' from DC Area.. Any takers? |

Not to worry . . . the HD or Buell discussion was one of the opening topics when the Homecoming discussion first surfaced. Take my word for it . . . there are times, when you need to toss a name around, that Harley-Davidson gets a lot more attention. If you are at Homecoming ask me about how I got seated ahead of "Big Vinny" at Peter Luger's Steakhouse. You're going to have a great time! I know I did at my first Homecoming . . . of course, Ronald Reagan was President.

Spops.. check in the VA, MD, DC area.. Joe was talking about making the trip.. As are the wife and I, but we'll probably not be riding as there will be too much luggage for the bikes.. (and I know she doesn't want to put that many miles in the saddle of 'Bumble Buell') |

As of this morning ANYONE should be able to register using the online function. You are no longer required to log into the Buell Owners section of www.buell.com In order to register, just go HERE. Questions? Ask. |

Not necessarily. If it's a matter of fees to the event you are eligible, while temporarily unemployed as a result of any action outside your control, for the BUELL OWNERS BENEVOLENT CONSIDERATION grant. It's easy . . . if all you need is a ticket to get into the events, drop me a NOTE and we'll get you fixed right up. In addition, some folks here will likely have room space available and this is a very, I've found over many years and life-cycles, good group of friends when you are transitioning one of life's valleys. . . we've all been there. No problem. Court |

thanks court, i was planning on leaving june 28 from norcal, and picking up my Gf who would be flying to denver, and continuing on through homecoming and then dropping her back in denver to fly home. the airline ticket is non refundable. my concern was the gas to and from, the hotels/meals on the way and back. i estimated at least $2000.00 to cover most of that, but now i can't seem to justify spending a month's or more worth of expense money on a vacation, even though it would be the best vacation of my life!!!! i appreciate the thought Court! my Gf was broken hearted, when i told her i had some bad news, she said "as long as it doesn't effect our trip..." but it will, i'm afraid. i am beating the streets to find a job as fast as possible, and if that happens, i may be able to swing something....i hope. but the chance of starting a new job and getting 2 weeks vacation right away is slim. my biggest wish is everyone has a safe and fun time, and pass a few "good luck" wishes my way???? i don't have a pc at home yet, so my posting will be sporadic, my hour is up at the library. I have posted this before but I should post it again. My parents live about 2 miles from Hals and have a large enough yard that if anybody wants to pitch a tent in the backyard they can. Just let me know if you would want to do this. If there will be a big group we might have a porta-jon brought in. Dan tel # 303-702-1600 |

Sleez; Where there's a will, there's a way. Camping is cheap, and will save you a lot of cash. There'll be a good bit of free food, so you'll save some there. I'm sure that if you really want to go, a way will present itself. Court can help with the tickets, and Buelliedan can help with camping. Or, if that's a little too primitive, I bet there's a public campground that has reasonable rates. Also, I've found Badwebbers to be extremely helpful. I bet we can find a way. There will only be one 25th; you really should be there. |

May I make one suggestion to make this a proper event? It needs a Homecoming Queen. (and no, not Spidey with a thong) |
