Hey fellas. Looks like my XB stand is not gonna fit the swingarm of the 1125r. Time for a new rear. Who has a recommendation? I know the "trackside" from Cycle gear fits....What else? |

Dark Horse Moto race style sliders and a Pit Bull rear stand. The Pit Bull will work directly with swingarm or with spools. |

I heard that the Pit Bull stand for the 1125R is not yet out... I know that Keith (darkhorsemoto) has recommended the Pit Bull SS Rear Stand Combo in conjunction with his sliders, but we don't have any confirmation that it actually fits the 1125R. Someone posted recently that Pit Bull is about to release a rear stand for the 1125R in about a month or so... I'm waiting! |

Don't the axle sliders interfere with removal of the rear? |

My XB12 pit bull stand fits my 1125r perfectly... this is the adjustable stand with flippable grips. |

Harlan, The adjustable Pit Bull rear stand will work directly with either the swingarm or with spools (including axle slider spools). It doesn't need spools. It will lift from under the swingarm. It works well. |

Hey Guys, Is this the stand you are referring to? http://www.pit-bull.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Scr een=PROD&Store_Code=PBMSA&Product_Code=F0028-000&C ategory_Code=rear_stands Just want confirmation... if this works, that's awesome and I'm ordering tomorrow! I'd like it to work with the DarkHorseMoto sliders/spools... seems a bit more secure to me (or, at least, somewhat more cool!). Thanks, Takis (Message edited by pariah on May 01, 2008) |

Takis, Yes that's the stand. I had to bend it and wide'n it just a tad. I used a hydraulic stand jack to open it up about 1/2 inch and then removed the washers on the flip guides. Removing the washers also allowed it to open up about a 1/4 an inch on each side. |

Harlan, There's a discussion at http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/355947.html?1209393943 Looks like in a month or so, there will be a Pit Bull stand specifically for the 1125R. Here's the thing: the type that lift directly on the bottom of the swingarm are NOT STABLE. They are good enough just for storage but if you work on the bike at all, they slide forward until the rear wheel sits on the ground. On Higbee's racebike here at Willow, he had to put two small bolts into the bottom of the swingarm to prevent this from happening. I looked at the swingarm and it is so light (a good thing) that there's not enough thickness in the casting to drill/tap for conventional spools (a bad thing). The spools/sliders with a threaded rod through the axle are not going to work for changing tires. Since Pit Bull now has had a chance to actually see an 1125R, you might be able to email them to get their take on it all. [Bitch] Buell really ought to have a built-up boss on the swingarm that is threaded to accept any of the commonly available spool type sliders. Make our lives so much easier. Yeah, it'd be "just like" a GSXR, SV, R6, R1 and other bikes but having that feature makes lifting on spools pretty trivial. [/Bitch] |

I sent email to Pit Bull asking about availability for rear/front stands. They replied the #3 pin will work for the front stand and they are a week or so away from a rear stand specifically for the 1125R. |

That is also the stand I use. I did not have to bend mine though. |

I have the Pit-Bull knock-off stand, the T-Rex. It actually does quite well once you take a pair of channel locks to bend the piece that lifts the swingarm. Luckily it is made so cheaply that it bends easily (I don't think you could do this with the Pit-Bull) and once bent, it is just wide enough and also runs nicely with the funky outside angle of the swingarm. I have pics if anyone wants to see. |

My T-rex's adjusted out wide enough to clear without bending, but I had to use the swingarm lift as I don't have spools yet. I will probably drop the cash for the pit bulls when they come out, and I have to talk to Dark Horse Moto about those spool/sliders as well... |

I bought a cheap stand from the HD shop for my old Firebolt 3 years ago. It was designed as a frame lift, but I adapted it to lift thru the rear axle. Replaced the little wheels with a pair from an old lawnmower and a piece of steel pipe thru the axle. I removed the rubber hose that went on the aluminum tubes but kept the rubber washers. It was made by Don Shalla Enterprises, but I don't think they make them anymore; cost under 100 bucks. It's very stable.

Cutty, I thpught the T-Rex would have probably fit w/o bending. Good call. I was a little worried about scuffing the outside of the swingarm and bending gives ya a little extra clearance and an angle that runs a bit better with the SA. |

Just thought some of you might get a good laugh out of this.
Actually it only took me and one of my kids about an hour to build. All the parts used were laying around the shop. After the bike is back together I`m going to clean it up a bit and finish it for future use. Originally I was going to build one out of 1" thinwall but I was in a hurry and didn`t want to drag out the bender and welder. |

Why did you take off the pulley and c-shaft sprocket cover? I know you had to lube the belt. What keeps the stand from sliding up the swingarm? |

Thanks for reminding me CCR. I think it's time for me to lube my belt too!!!! The Trackside stand I mentioned some weeks back works great but because of the steep angle on this swingarm I put tape on the underside of the swingarm to keep it from slipping. |

I took the rotor and pulley off the wheel so I could clean it easier. It`s almost impossible to do a good job with them on. The front cover had a ton of dust and crud behind it that needed cleaning also. I put a rubber hose between the stand and swingarm to prevent scratching and sliding. |

[/Bitch] This was suggested more than once on this site prior to the launch of the 1125R, and was the only suggestion that Anony didn't answer. How easy would it have been to weld on a couple of bosses at the manufacturing stage rather than try to work around or solve the problem now? |
