Has anyone taken Amtrak's Coast Starlight? I have to be in the Reno area late next month. I have already booked a ticket from Seattle to Sacramento, then I am transferring to the California Zephyr into Reno. I did upgrade the Coast Starlight portion to a sleeper car. Since this is my first time on the Coast Starlight, I was wondering is there is anything (train-wise) I need to look out for. Preferable dining times? etc... Any info is much appreciated. |

Sunny and I are really interested in taking that same train trip. I'd be eager to read of ANY experiences you have - other comments as well. |

Steve, I will take photos/video while on it. I came across a screaming deal. $395 for 2 w/ a sleeping car. This is one way from Seattle to Reno via Sacramento. Last time I looked the sleeping car added over $700 alone... I guess no one else here has been on it. |

I'd love to do the coast to coast trip, but I'd just have my face stuck to the window the whole time so that I wouldn't miss anything. |

I'd love to do the coast to coast trip, As an American, I would be ashamed to let you ride our trains. The certainly are not the TGV.

True, I was looking at maybe taking the train from Chicago to Austin this summer, it's the Texas Eagle, & it takes 29 hours!!! Must be the famous Walking Eagle it's named after. |

What would be the rail time from say Lisbon to Munich? |

No Clue, but you'd be running through 4 different countries on 3 or 4 different rail networks probably have to do Lisbon-Madrid, Madrid-Paris, Paris-Munich. No direct train single operator available. You'd be probably as quick driving. Best would be flying. |
