Finally came up with a cheap way to put a set of clubman bars on my XB S. They are very stable and feel great on the road. Can't wait to try them at Barber. They look like they are close to the R position. Total cost was $35 and a extra bar clamp from a buddy that had bought a set of crossroads bars, plus about 2-3 hours of time. They could be changed back to stock if needed.I will get the barend mirrors back on later

Thanks guys. I have been trying to figure out a way to do this for two years. The lightbulb finally came on. Just very slow. By the way I had to put 2 washers under the rear spacers to level front to back. About 1/8 " total. I also opened up the hole in the top triple tree for the clutch cable to lay down where it could run under the speedo unit. |

When you turn, how much does that cable rub on the gray plastic? Could you reinforce the hole with a rubber grommet. I am sure the cable will be fine, but over time the plastic might not. Anyway, Way to think outside of the box. Your bike looks sweet. |

Elff The gray part is cast aluminum and the cables do not move at all in the holes while turning. All the movement is below the upper triple tree. I may try putting a grommet around the cable there just to slow wear from good old engine vibration. Thanks |

Wouldn't it have been easier to buy a Firebolt and put a Lightning fairing on it?

I bought it 3yr ago with 500 mi. on it for $6300. A deal is a deal and I like to wrench them just a little bit less than riding them. |

BeachBuell It's alot more work to go from S to R front end than R to S front end. In the R, there is a lot of electronics in the fairing area that has to be relocated under the seat. In the S, it is already under the seat, and adding the firebolt end isnt quite so bad. If you do a search their are a decent amount of threads that have excellent instructions which detail everything that needs to be done. |

Front LED signals from Shock Racing Rear Integrated LED signal-Tail Light from Clear Alternatives They are not set up as running lights. Don,t do much night riding. As far as bright, maybe 20% more. Thanks |

The R Tail was an easy swap. Gives me a much better tucked in riding position. |

I installed clubmans on my Ss a while back and took them off. I ride my bike to work every day and my wrists and hands were killing me. I loved the way it looked. |
