First day out I felt like a goober on training wheels when it came to the 1125 clutch. I have dialed up and down trying to find the right catch. Since my hands are small I've settled at 1. The new XB hand grips seem to help me too, thanks whoever told me that in here. At first, seemed like a long drag through 1st. She's verrry picky in low gears and "chuggles" at me but if I go up a gear she whines, typical woman. I do miss being able to coast my XB to the light without screwing with the gears. I've missed gears a few times and N'd it but thankfully I have cat like reflexes and caught myself. The best part is flying through 6 seamlessly on the freeway. My humble opinion is the hydraulic clutch is not optimal for street riding but no worries, I can hang.. |

If you were a hot dog, would you eat yourself? Ive ridden cable clutches for ten years on the street, and this is my first hydro. It took a couple rides to get used to, but I love the clutch on my 11. Its lighter, smoother, and easier to use. |

Hydraulic clutches, when working properly, are great. Engagement should be smooth and predictable. |

I came off a ST1300 and a 12r. The hyd clutch on the ST was a gift as far as pull compared to the 12r. A properly lubed and adjusted 12r clutch was a little heavy but gave you a large amount of feedback and a relative large friction point. The ST was a LOT easier but the friction point was not as noticeable. The engagement point on the ST, and 25r is at the end of the travel. With the 25r, I have the adjuster set on 3 or 4. This gives me less stroke but, a better feel since my fingers are not completely extended. This gives me better feel than even my ST. Wish I had an adjustable lever on the ST now. Try it you might like it. Later Neil S. |
