OK, ive spent the last 30 minutes looking at ecmspy.com and searching this site. Still havent got many answers about ecmspy. My questions... Is this a free thing? (Doubt it but couldnt find a price) Once i download the program, i can completely remap my computer? like i wasted my money buying a race ecm, when i coulda reprogramed my stock computer??? What are your experiences with it? |

It is free. Once it is downloaded you can completely remap your computer (if not done correctly you can completely destroy engine as well) I use it for maintenance work.. I have not tried to remap but it was worth the small expense to build a interface cable to be able to reset the tps and such. |

I'd buy a cable if someone was making them.... pleeeeze? I read the instructions on how to make my own cable but realized I never learned to changed my VCR clock from flashing "12:00" (until it was replaced by the DVD) so there is no way I would ever be able to succeed in building a cable as described. Thank you for taking pity here.... |

The main issue, is not all Palms use the same cable.. Though they DO hook up through USB, mine needs to be hooked up to power to stay on after 3 minutes... kinda makes Data Logging tough.. Chase |

Ok Guys...While we are on this subject , Im no Guru with computors either... Im taking my S3 in this week to the dealers for a complete sensor check and TPS reset.. I really dont no if they even no what they are doin...Scott sent me a bunch of info on it and Im taking it with me to make sure its done right... Now, Im still not 100% this is gonna fix the bike, thus would like to get things going for ECM Spy.... I need to go buy a used laptop...Ideas here? I no i need XP,2000 or vista in it.. I no nothing about buyin a laptop.... Help!....i was just gonna go to a pawn shop or so to get one! After i manage that, then we need the cable...I see one can get the Duestch connector thru CCI catalogue as well... But which USB cable do I need? Does that depend on the laptop i get? I realize some of you guys are very knowledgable about all this and any HELP would be kewl.... I am gonna try to get this bike to run right with the DDFI if possible, before resorting to a carb setup... i have tested all sensors with a voltmeter and they are good, It has no intake leaks and all seems to be 100%, other than possibly the TPS setting... The bike has 800 original miles...Its a 2000 S3T... Ratb has given me all prices etc on new sensors already, so I guess until May1 when my dealer appointment is I will just gather info from Ya's.....Thx..hankb.. |
