Dropped her off last nite ...... Alot of people out at our local HD / Buell dealer ..... Got alot of attention , both good and bad , Buell fans and the tech's from the service Dept came out to see her , they were excited to come out and talk about ridding them at the Mid-Ohio race course last summer , and to ask about how well I liked the 1125r . One other person , an employee of the dealership own's one as well , He came out to compare story's , both of us had big "SEG's" while talking ....... But.... in the background , it seems as though the 1125r , or maybe Buell ??? isn't all that well received by the HD riders there yesterday . Some were , but most were not . It seemed to only fuel my excitement for the 1125r and Buell , I'm not usually one to try to be mainstream , plus I noticed my 1125 was the only bike drawing a crowed of people , and there was alot of nice bike's sitting in the lot !!! Love it or hate it ..... I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!  I couldn't be happier with my 1125 | ||

Love it. It has everything that brought me to Buell in the first place--now with the engine to back it up. It is a dead sexy bike that gets better looking all the time. | ||

I LOVE the engine! I want to love the whole bike. I have waited for this bike for a long time. I love Buells. I'm sure this is a fun bike to ride. I love short wheelbase V-twin bikes! I hate that this engine did not receive newly and well thought out package designed with matching proportions. I think the jump in technology deserved a more comprehensively consistent package, Count me in on version 2.0. | ||

 This is my first Buell , heard alot about them , saw them on the street , read all about them , and I am not disappointed , AT ALL !!!! best decision I could have made , now I see what all the fuss was about !!! | ||

Nothing But Love Here for My 1125R I picked up my bike from my last service. Everyone in the Dealership loves it. As I was waiting for them to bring it out someone asked me why did I buy that bike. My reply was quick and simple. It cost less than half the price than most bikes on the showroom floor and is twice the bike of any of them. With better handling, breaking, and much more power and far advanced with technology. Why settle for loud chrome between you legs that can't get out of its own way when you can have a sexy hot thing like the 1125r. The place went silent. | ||

isn't all that well received by the HD riders there yesterday. Despite the HD-Buell corporate link, I feel much more akin to the sportbike crowd rather than the HOG crowd. I know there are SOME HD owners that recognize the Buell/HD link and can appreciate Buell for what it is--but most are either ignorant of the connection and/or dismiss Buellers as just "non Harley" owners. | ||

Yes, among the OWNERS here... (I have #142) I'm in the love it category. Great feedback from the chassis as usual plus a little more smooth pulling go. Just an amazing bike from such a small company. As far as the HD/Buell link. I think I'll just put HD stickers all over it. IF they stop to ask, I'll school them. But they just like different U.S. bikes with a different purpose, and thats cool with me. To quote you Thurston: I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!! I couldn't be happier with my 1125 | ||

Didnt buy it to worry about what other people think. I love it! We're all bikers at the end of the day. Its a shame cruiser boys ignore sports guys and vice versa,etc.. If we stick together maybe we wont get persecuted so much. I'm off to hug a tree now!  | ||

Its a shame cruiser boys ignore sports guys and vice versa,etc I acknowledge anyone that rides past me, no matter what he/she rides. But after a bunch of recent "blow-offs" by the cruiser guys, I can see how people develop negative attitudes. It's funny ever since I got the 11, I can sense the change in attitude from the cruiser guys (as opposed to when I was on my XB9SX). I guess the streetfighter 9 is more acceptable to them? | ||

Sorry guys I am probably gonna get flamed for this, but I am GLAD there is so very little Harley left in the 1125R. I am PROUD to own a bike with technology from this century. I owned two sportsters and had nothing but problems and the thing was so SLOW...lol. | ||

Love it...or hate it? I don't really care who loves it or hates it. All I care about is...that this bike speaks to me and I can clearly and truly understand, what it is saying. This isn't a bike made to fit in with the other crowds...sportbike, cruiser or tourer. It is made to blend a rider and a machine into one whole complete and finished entity. One entity, which connects corners with a smooth precision, effortless power and confidence inspiring handling. This is a bike, which has a soul of its own...an unforgettable character, that constitutes the embodiment of quite a few ideas, which have taken years to reach maturity. Yes..."different". But "different" is good in this case. Yes..."different" is never easily accepted or swallowed, because it doesn't fit in with the norm. But when that different proves that it not only works, but makes you grin like juvenile idiot inside of that helmet...well, that different suddenly gets the "success" stamp, at least in my book. I ride for me...not to fit in with the other crowds...not to impress anyone with the looks of my bike...I just love to ride corner after corner and mile after mile. And the 1125R let's me do just that, while disappearing beneath me. What more can a rider ask?... | ||

It is made to blend a rider and a machine into one whole complete and finished entity. Bingo! Hit the nail on the head. My friend rode mine and said: "Once I got going, the bike disappeared under me". That's a good testament to "built from the rider down" as well. | ||

Bdutro,are you saying that the only way to be an enthusiast is to own a Buell 1125?Plenty of true motorcycle enthusiast ride other brands.I see more than a few Buells for sale that have been owned by posers.Not a good thing to generalize. | ||

It's the nature of a Buell motorcycle, it serves as an expression of the owners individual lust for life. Some motorcycles become "art" and get cherished coddled and displayed. Buells beg you to step into the picture and become the art . . . the rider and the bike complimenting one another and completing a portrait. Artist Harry Wirth (1995 Buell S2) was one of the first to display a Buell as art . . . not "just" a motorcycle. The Buell, along with the Herman Miller Aeron chair was displayed not for horsepower, corner carving or miles per gallon but for an unrivaled ability to draw a person, who come "just to look" closer and encourage them into the experience. From my personal window I can't offer a better example of sitting at dinner one night with a couple musical moto-enthusiasts in NYC. The conversation turned the The Art of the Motorcycle and the curator began to lament that Barber had requested their Curraco Blue Buell RS-1200 back and feared there'd not be one at the upcoming opening of the show. I asked "where do you want it and when". The startled curator and the guy sitting next to him (who some of the elderly amongst you would remember for his stunning performance at Max Yasgur's farm in '69) starting working the "how long to ship" and declared getting one there to be impossible in the short time. Once again. . (you really need to know Buell people to understand this) I repeated "where and when?". They gave me the time and place, I thanked them and told them the bike would be there. I called Aaron Wilson to let him know I have, without his knowledge (you really need to know Buell people to understand this) volunteered his pristine (now on display in The Netherlands) RS-1200. The rest of the story takes a bit but the bike was driven into the exhibit well before it opened. When I got the "how the heck did you get it there?" call my response was . .. "it's a motorcycle . . I RODE IT". Aaron always acted like he didn't do the math . . . . dividing the distance to be traveled by the hours in which I made the trip . . . but, as an engineer and a rabid enthusiast, I think he always knew. It's not a motorcycle. Motorcycles are easy. They come from all over the world, some cheap, some expensive, some fun, some a royal pain in the ass. There are REAL Royal Enfields and there are the Royal Enfields from Madras, India all over the streets of NYC. It's more than a motorcycle. It's a rolling expression of the passion and commitment of a bunch of fascinating people. If you are at Homecoming and are iffy about this . . . ask me and I'll show you what I mean. It's a Buell , , . art, life and a motorcycle. It invites enthusiasts. I haven't bought a new Buell in a dozen years yet my enthusiasm continues to grow. Watch just the motorcycle and you can miss most the wonder. Court | ||
