My hand levers hurt after sitting in traffic. What lever do you guys have? PICS would be nice. Years ago on my dirt bike I had short flexible levers that worked great but I can't find them anymore. | ||

Thanks guys! Buellistic, I have that adapter on my RKing. It works well but fast shifting is not easy because of the longer throw. I like the shorty levers with some thickness too them. My levers are so skinny I feel like I'm riding a bike from the 70's  Do any of you guys have the short levers and do they have some meat too them? I can't tell from the pics on the web site. | ||

The old Buells had sportster switchgear on 1" bars. I remember that the levers were very fat. Do you suppose that the old levers are compatible with the newer 7/8" perches? | ||

I just took the 1" stuff off my S2. I hated the fat switchgear housings and right turn signal switch on the right side. TK | ||

I have short billet levers on my S1 and wide-blade levers (from American Sport Bike) on my S3. I use to like the shorties on my dirt bikes and they seem to suit the S1, but I prefer the wide blades for long rides. | ||

there WAS someone on ebay who made and sold some nice beefy levers for these bikes... Billet To Race or something like that. Never had them on my bike, but a buddy did.. nice and beefy.. felt good too.. Its a PITA going between the Sporty and the Buell sometimes... Chase | ||

Lafayette Thanks for the info. Went to the local Jap dealer. They had the break lever but could not find anything with the clutch lever. Do you know by chance the year and model of Kawasaki they came off? If they weren't really busy I would have tried to get the parts person to do some cross referencing.Thanks again. Joe | ||

Werewulf: I home brewed a 7/8" setup using a set of controls off a Blast, some Amplock (sp) connectors to make it plug together and look somewhat stock, Buell Traction handgrips, and Nissin master from an X1 (I switched to the Nissin caliper, also), X1 clutch perch, lever, and cable, a set of Crossroads bars (for a Blast of all things, they were on a shelf and I got them cheap)and custom risers to clear the fork tubes. I don't have it assembled yet because I'm still waiting for the 2nd revision bar risers to get made. I should have made them myself, but a guy at work said "I can do that for you in a couple of hours". That was last week. I've always had bikes with 7/8" bars and I just never cared for the 1" controls on the S2. My right hand is busy enough sometimes without having to worry about the right ts. TK | ||

Hugie: I've been working this swap over in my head for almost 3 years before I grew a pair and started cutting wires. I gambled on a few things and it seems to have worked out. I knew what I wanted from the dealer before I went, but the parts guys at Town & Country do treat me really well. I picked up the Blast switchgear used (off a 2001 I think) and a lot of the color coding was the same or real close (headlights were exactly the same) to the S2. I had sat down with both the S2 and Blast wiring diagrams and worked everything out before I had the controls, but the Blast controls I bought DID NOT match the color coding or cavity position of my Blast wiring diagram. I'm not 100% sure how the self-canceling signals are going to work with the new switch. The signals blink but since the bike isn't moving yet I can't tell if the will self cancel after I manually cancel them. If not I'm going to ditch the self canceling system and put a standard flasher in. Next winter I will probably remove the main harness and pull out the extra wiring and redo some of my connections. The bars were a complete fluke. My first plan, Pro-Tech clip-ons, needed modified to let the master cylinder slide all the way up, so I was going to get a remote reservoir unit, but the clip-ons also hit the dash when turning to the left. My back-up plan (and the reason I put the S1 top clamp on when I put the forks back on) was standard S1 bar risers on spacers with superbike bars. In order to clear the fork tubes the superbike bars were sitting up too tall for my taste. I was about to buy a pair of drag bars when I spied the Crossroads Blast bars hanging on the wall. I cut out some spacers out of a 2x4, sat it on the top clamp, and I think we are in business. I did have new bar mounting slots and taps added that pulled the bars back on the mounting plate. The Blast bars were mounted so far forward that they blocked a good portion of the riders view of the speedo, and they may have caused a funky feel to the steering (too much leverage?). Crossroads S1/X1 bars may have worked better, but I wanted to use what I had. Pics to follow, they will show this mess better than I can explain it. TK | ||

I run CRG stubbies on my S1W and they definitely have some meat to them. Love the lever-adjust as opposed to the wheel - much quicker and easier to make changes. | ||

Warlizard, maybe I'm retarded but American Sport Bike just states, they are Aluminum billet levers but never give the manufactures name. Are they the CRGs you are taking about? Also does anyone know which bikes share the same controls? (Ducati,Kaw,KTM,...?) | ||

Hugie if you use the link I provided and click on the picture in upper left. Where it says "view larger image" You will see all the color options up close and you will also see "CRG". The short ones look identical but end where the breakaway notch is on the standard ones in the pic. Piazzo makes a nice lever also and they run about the same price. | ||

Mine are black levers, natural "hinges". Don't think they have all-black, but they look and work great. | ||
