So, I think I wasted about eight gallons of fuel running my Wrangler around trying to get propane for the BBQ. There's a place right near where I work that refills LP tanks...anyone strapped an LP tank to the passenger seat / triple tail (tail in the backrest position) before? Anything other than the OBVIOUS that makes this a bad idea? It'd be nice if I could just get a refill at work one day, but I ride to work everyday... |

Hey Joe Went through a lot of the same thought processes when I was trying to figure a way to do the same thing with an AL80 scuba cylinder. Ended up concluding nothing could justify the risks. How about getting the wife to do it? Don |

I have done it. I went to work with the propane tank in my old US Army duffel bag. Adjusted the shoulder straps so the tank would sit on the seat and still be snug. I wouldn't do it on a regular basis, but it is possible. I have hauled stranger things on a bike before... |

Why not, just use a ratchet strap or two to hold it[no bungee cords!] |

Oh, I was planning on using a ratchet strap to make sure it didn't shift...and the reason I have to do it is because they *all* felt heavy to the wife and when the schmuck handed her an empty can, with no plastic tab, she didn't realize it wasn't a full one and should have a tab. That, and pricing it out...refills are waay cheaper than exchanges. |

Charcoal or wood chips! Tastes better and is far safer than pressurized fuel. Just my .02 BC Steve |

Now that's just crazy talk. That said, my worst fear is that my end will be recorded in the annual Darwin Awards. |

Yeah, since I am Murphy's Law on 2 legs, the Darwin Awards will be my 15 minutes of fame. LOL. Possible upside? Maybe the cagers will notice the LP tank, even if they "don't see" the bike! Which begs another question - should I really mess with tailgaters and placard my top box? |
