I've got a 2008 XB12R and am heading out on a 1400 mile road trip today--of all the dealers around here theres only two saddlebags available locally: Tourmaster Cortech sport bags and the offical Buell bags. Two questions: is it possible for a passenger to ride with the buell bags, and do either the tourmaster or buell bags install without having to re-locate the turn signals? Thanks |

I don't know how quickly you could get them, but American Sportbike carries the Ventura line. I've got both the large and small racks. They are meant to sit over the passenger seat, but I turn them around to hang off the back of my 08 XB12R. With the big pack I can take a week's worth of stuff easily.

No passenger with the Cortech bags. They fit with the turn signals, but only because the turns signals are flexible and bend out of the way just enough. Not sure about the Buell Bags, dont have them. A few pics from 2500 miles last May.

Thats good news about the turn signals, but not so good about the passenger--do they just block access to the foot pegs? |

Yeah, the bottom of the bags rest right on the heel guard of the passenger pegs. No room for legs. |

You could fit a passenger with the Buell bags, but they'd have to have a REALLY skinny ass. |

so are there any saddlebags that can be used in conjunction with a passenger? |

I don't think so, not with the R and S ergonomics. Unless someone's come up with something totally ingenious that I haven't seen before...? You need a Uly seat! ~SM (Message edited by Swordsman on April 24, 2008) |

I never actually tried it, but when I had the Buell saddlebags on my '04 XB12R I didn't think I'd have any trouble carrying a passenger. They tend to ride a little high when unloaded, but with any load at all the should sag enough to not interfere with a passenger. |
