One other thing to remember, in Milwaukee we have a saying "cooler near the lake." It can very easily be 15 degrees cooler at Summerfest than out at the hotel. Make sure to check the weather and dress right. The grounds are next to the giant refrigerator we call Lake Michigan and the water temperature will be about 55 degrees so if the wind is out of the east the outdoor air conditioning will be running full blast. |

finding GOOD beer not an issue in Milwaukee and not at Sumerfest. One of the beer tents is nothing but local micro brews. Most of the Miller tents have Leinenkugals also. |

Darthane, It might be piss water but those American beers you speak of sell's more Worldwide then any. As far as micro??? The beers that will be there are all beers that are distributed through Miller Brewing. They own Summerfest and nobody else. |

"...you might have trouble finding GOOD beer and not just that pisswater most Americans call 'beer'." Sprecher is the furthest from piss you'll ever taste. Brewed in Glendale, WI (about 10 minutes from downtown Milwaukee) Sprecher rootbeer is amazing. |

Bads1 I would disagree. Water Street Brewery will have there usual selection of a dozen or more beers at their building. |

I realize that Dave but they are Milwaukee. On another note that beer is not distributed nationally or worldwide. Not one of those beers you'll find in a bar locally by me.98% of the beer there is through Miller Brewing. You'll see Lienies,Blue Moon,Blue Moon's new seasonal Honey. The one I wonder if they will let in will be Spotted Cow. Wisconsin Brewed but distrubuted by Beechwood which is the distributor for Bud in the area. Bud a few years ago approached the commity for Summer Fest to let them in. They basically showed them a blank check for them to fill in and the answer was still.....NO!!! I see that Miller has taken over every stage as a sponsor or co-sponsor. I wonder if Coors is gonna be there? You know? the really nice cool frosty pee? Sprecher backed out last year, I doubt they'll be there this year. Too bad, its great brew. |

They backed out most likely because they are distributed by Beechwood which is a Budweiser distributor. I'd think that they would let them in because they are a local. Coors will be there now that it owned by Miller. They are really pushing the new MGD LIGHT 64,The Chill and Coor's right now. |

It is pretty hard to argue with Miller, they do so much locally that letting Bud in would be a real slap in the face to them. I can't imagine it ever happening. Nice to know that Summerfest is not just about money. |

I first heard it back in the '60s; and it wasn't new then. (I heard it in reference to Gatlinger's Beer) |

I've been riding/walking/running up to folks with Buells to let them know about Homecoming. I should be passing out business cards with www.badweatherbikers.com on it. |
