I was working out of town last weekend and had someone coming over to feed my cats and check the house, etc. when she found the shed where I store the bike had been crow barred open. The bike was gone as was a new husky chain saw and my motorcycle loading ramp. The douchebags didn't know that I had the PIN set, so I'm guessing that it will be in little pieces if it doesn't get recovered in the next week or two. With all of the teething problems that I had with the bike, when I heard that it had been stolen, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry... Please keep your eyes open for parts on ebay, etc. | ||

I guess the days when you could leave a Buell unattended with the keys in the ignition are over. You're profile says you are in Mobile Alabama. Sorry to hear about the theft, hopefully it will be found intact. | ||

Captnemo, sorry to hear about your loss. Thanks for reminding us all to protect our new asset as best we can. Even with the PIN, if they want it bad enough it's gonna be gone. Let us know what u decide to do with insurance. I'm curious if you replace it. Are 1125s easy to come by in your area? | ||

The claim has been filed, but it's a waiting game now. I had a lot of trouble with this bike - a total of 56 days in the shop out of less than 5 months. I don't think that I'll be back on an 1125 anytime soon. BTW, the dealer was working a buy back of the bike from me when it was stolen, so now I'm out additional time and money with deductibles, depreciation, etc... This absolutely sucks. . | ||

One has a carbon fiber print on it and the other is stock. I will keep a look out for it. Now is the time for us 1125R owners to look at lojack. I am having lojack installed on mine before it leaves the service department. Trust me unless the bike is anchored down they will take it, as it only weighs 375 dry maybe about 400 wet. This bike is a looker and now we know it is sought after so protect your children everyone. I hope they recover yours in one piece. Mine had scratches on the pods, front fairing, and headlights and the clutch inspection cover was ripped off. The service department is checking the gas and oil before the bike is started. | ||

Sorry to hear of another one and please no one take this personally...but ebay is not the find all. In fact there are a whole lot of easier ways to sell stolen goods? If in fact someone here does see something on ebay or craigslist or anywhere else for that matter, please report this to a local authority for investigation before posting it here. That is what PMs are for. Until you know something for sure, well, you know. I don't want to have to change my username again on ebay...please. |
