Highly unlikely that the Motor Company would cover it being it is such an old recall. Doesn't hurt to ask the dealer though, I guess. |

I've heard some say (Grovskpa, maybe?) that they're still getting them warrantied. |

I have a 2000 m2 I just bought and it needed the recall. I took it to my dealer and they got one (shock) arriving on Wed. All you have to do is contact your dealer give them your VIN and they'll look up any open recalls on that bike. They have to have the bike at the shop to order the shock and once its there you can't have it back till the recall is done. Service guy told me Buell red tape. But it makes since liability and all. Gongrats on the new X1 or old...whatever. |

Just go to the store during a time there will be many customers. Speak loudly about the crap quality of your shock/bike and tell them "if you don't fix what is YOUR fault I will never ever buy a HD nor recommend one to anyone I know" That's what I did, and it worked wonders. 500 USD or whatever it costs them us a laughable amount for them and a happy customer is worth much more than that |

That's what I did, and it worked wonders. That would get you thrown out on your head at a few dealerships I've been to. |

That is crazy. How do these dealers justify treating people like that? How can they say they won't replace a recalled shock when they are still available from Buell? Isn't there a liability issue here. I must be lucky. My dealership hasn't made any issues about it. |

In LV you can throw yourself on the floor and spew pea soup, and they still just look at you without a care and go on to another buyer. The worst dealership parts people in the motorcycle world. I even went up the ladder to manasgement...nothing! They sell enough hogs to just not care if you own a buell, and there's another buyer behind you who wants leather streamers for there levers! |
