Anyone used this shifter? I believe it's from banke performance. I have the 99-00 style that goes all the way up and around the primary cover, and still seems to have slack in it even though it was just replaced. Would the banke peice be quite an improvement over stock?

Phillip A couple of options here. American Sport Bike sales bushing for the boomerang style shifter(1). Buell webs sight has the upgraded shifter from the newer X1s not as blingy but functional(2). There is of course the aftermarket options like the Bank versions shown. I have only seen one other on the site with the banks and he like it. Joe |

The Banke works great, but thay are a bit on the $$ side. If you really want one, keep watching the for sale here on BWB or keep an eye on Ebay. The New style tuber shifter kit is a decent improvment over the boomerang stocker. Al has bronze bushings for those too. The bronze bushings help the stockers quite a bit actually if you like the boomerang look. Brad |

My M2 bought used, came with Banke gear, man is it nice, but can't say if it's improvement, never drove the stock. But it sure is nice stuff. Would Custom Chrome have that left brake caliper? Maybe it's a PM or some other aftermarket? Can't make it out. Those wheels look just like BST carbon too. When I asked them they said they don't make tuber wheels. ?? Hey, I drove a Fiero for about 9 years, I love those Pegasus cars too. Looking for another one right now. (Message edited by jayvee on April 07, 2008) (Message edited by jayvee on April 07, 2008) |

I sure liked my Banke shifter setup and agree with bluzm2 about finding them but you don't see many for sale because they are so nice. Even used they cost close to as much as new and if they need bushings well go figure. |

Just got a banke shifter from ebay $101 shipped. a little road rash but that's ok considering 2/3 off the price of a new one. looks like it won't come with any hardware or instructions. anything or particular i should look out for when I install it? From the pics I've seen it just mounts to one of the chin fairing mounting points using a longer screw?
I'm thinking some polishing on the rash - just a touch of aluminum putty squeezed into the scratches if they're as deep as they look. followed by some sanding and more polishing should look have it looking good. (Message edited by pkforbes87 on April 22, 2008) |

Did you get the adapter to fit to the 2 bolts in the primary? |

That picture doesn't show the mount. I had to buy an x-1 (two-piece) mount from Banke to put the chin fairing on my M2. The mount alone was about $90. I still have the instructions they sent along with it somewhere. The mount bolts through the primary cover with two bolts. I'm not clear how you could install the shifter without it, there might be a way. |

Didn't know anything about a mount that attaches to the primary cover. I'm guessing I'll only be sent what is in the picture but I'll find out soon enough.. |

See the Banke site: http://www.bankeperformance.com/buell/shifters.htm l It's the SKA-12, the mount is clearly pictured. I have the M2 mount extra, in case you don't run the chin fairing. |
