2008 Buell 1125R Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) Calibration
(TPS Zero / TPS Reset)

NOTE
The Throttle Position Sensor Zero Procedure should be performed if the throttle position sensor or ECM are replaced or if the ECM has been recalibrated.

To zero the TPS:

1. Set the Run/Stop switch to the Run position.
2. Turn the ignition key to the On position.
3. With the engine off, rotate the throttle grip from its closed
throttle position to the wide-open throttle position and back
to closed position three (3) times, holding the throttle grip
against eash stop (open and closed) for one (1) full second.
4. Cycle the ignition key off and back on.
A properly calibrated TPS sensor will indicate 3.7 to 4.2 voltss
for wide open throttle.

Mine was 2% and .6v at closed and 100% and 4.1v at WFO.

Seems fine to me.

OK I'm confused.
Diag Mode shows TPS % and Voltage but the "procedure" says you should see "degrees".
Unit analysis fails.

Yea, that's the only part that doesn't make sense - but it would make sense if it said ' TPS sensor will indicate 3.7 to 4.2 volts at WOT'.

Regardless of that - the procedure works and I don't think there is any way to really 'check' to see if it calibrated. The earlier models had the same issue with a different procedure - no confirmation that it's correct except for a test ride to see how it runs.

"Yea, that's the only part that doesn't make sense - but it would make sense if it said ' TPS sensor will indicate 3.7 to 4.2 volts at WOT'. "

Another horrendous error in documentation then?

Just checking; 2% of 90o would be 1.8o. I'm confused.
