Before ECM spy or the package that American Sport Bike sells 'you' could not re map the ecm, The PC was an attempt to gain some control of the fueling by altering the ECM output. the Race ECM had best performance maps & ignition settings VS Clean air settings. If I understand it the box is otherwise the same. the newer tube frame Race boxes are NEWER tech as the supply of older parts was exhausted because the demand was much greater than expected, AND the original parts were not available any longer. If you have never ridden an FI Buell with the race ECM you are going to be startled. A big portion of the mid range hole goes away for the most part its an improvement, You would want to keep the stock one and put it on the shelf so when tail pipe sniffers come to your state ( they will ) its unbolt - bolt test reverse. I hope that the ECM pans out ok for you, that is one thing that I would not buy used off of E-Bay. (Message edited by oldog on April 20, 2008) |

My 2000 S3 never ran right till I added the race parts -- stock parts were a compromise to make a very tweaked motor pass all the federal regs. |

Not 'tuned', no. You WILL need to reset the TPS though... minor thing, should only cost you about 1/2 hour labor... Chase |

Ya really can't tune an FI bike -- TPS will do wonders though -- You will enjoy the difference == Bneck |
