So far nobody will touch the seat on my 1125. As some of u may remember, I'm vertically challenged. I need about an inch of the undercrap off the seat. I'm still riding and tippy toeing so don't get me wrong but it will really hurt my ego if I have to have a dude back it in for me. Corbin and Tobin didn't bother to respond and Spencer said no dice. I get that it's a new bike but it's not the friggin Discovery. Everybody is hands off with anything aftermarket...What gives? | ||

Isn't the seat the same as the firebolt's? If so when you call, pretend you are doing this for a firebolt... | ||

Yep, same seat as the bolt, that's what I had to do with Corbin. By the way, the Corbin seat is wider, so it would make your reach worse, unless you could get them to narrow their design. | ||

Probably going to go to a custom chopper shop and have somebody scalp the seat for me. Last resort. | ||

1125chick....check with some of your local auto upolstery shops any good one can do wonders with what ever you bring them but remember as you remove material from the seat you will have less cushion. i suggest picking up a raw piece of saddle gel have them remove the material needed for your proper ride height then have them cut out for the saddle gel and have them add it into the seat. i'm in the process of having this done on my low seat cause the thing is rock hard and aside from the cost of the gel the job has been quoted to me for $65.00. just an option for ya incase you haven't looked into it yet. P.S. custom chopper shop o.k. idea but i found that a reputable mom+pop upolsterer will give a better deal and a lot of times better work! (Message edited by ustorque on April 20, 2008) | ||

These guys do good custom work.... I've been bugging them about doing seats for buells forever.. http://www.sargentcycle.com/ Your cheapest option find a upholstery shop, have them break out the electric Turkey Cutters  and trim it down for you.. | ||

Have them take off a thick layer of foam and replace it with thinner foam of a higher density. Nearly all motorcycle seats arrive with foam that is too soft. A firmer foam that feels too firm at first will probably be better in the long run. Run a WTB on the classifieds, maybe someone has an 1125R seat that they are finished with already. Jack | ||

Or you could pick up a cheap used Firebolt seat on Ebay and play around with it until you get it the way you want it. | ||

I agree with the local upholstery shop. They can do some major wonders for almost nothing. the gel addition is a great idea. | ||

I like the upholstery shop idea and gel instead of chop shop (this was a last resort). Gel may turn out to be more comfortable in the long run anyway. So far I tend to sit pretty far forward due to my stature so the gel in the front may be just the ticket. Thanks all- | ||
