G'day All Has anyone experienced irregular engine stalling at low speeds or when blipping throttle when downshifting? My dealer predelivered the bike with 95 octane fuel and the bike ran abit rough after reading the manual i changed to 91 octane the bike runs smoother but still stalls and locks the rear wheel. the dealer does not have a service manual or digitech for it yet and i cant see them hurrying as mine is the only one to be sold here for the year. any ideas would be greatly appreciated oh the bike only has 300 odd miles on it Regards Brett |

if it is stalling on pulling out from a stop, it takes a little more rpm's than idle to make a smooth transition from stop to go. also with the hyd clutch it is harder to feel the clutch slip zone. it won't take long to adjust. if it is stalling at idle-dealer. if it is stalling at acceleration while moving at speed-again rpm's too low. mine seems to like cruising at 3500 and up. tim |

Tas, bear with it, be a little gentle during break-in. Keep your engine speed up, a little more than you're used to with the "Lumps". Loretta had some issues like you describe when new. She stalled a few times, I flooded her a few times etc. With a few hundred miles, she smoothed out. Some of that is parts wearing-in but I suspect the bigger part is the fuel injection/ ECM settling in . Regardless, at 6100 miles, she's very settled in. At 300 miles, I'd consider doing your first oil change soon. I did mine at 500 and the oil was trashed, no damage, but dirty and I wish I'd dumped it sooner. Make sure and drain both sides and ONLY put 3 qts in with a new filter. You may just have a little too much oil... not that that's ever happened..... Good luck Zack |

Mine does the same thing and it is currently in the shop getting looked at. My bike would stall when I pulled in the clutch before low speed downshifts. Take it in to the shop. |

Bob: I will open the throttle to pull away from a stop and it will sometimes stall just as I open the throttle. It may happen to me 2-3 times a week. It has lessened over the past miles. I'm at 2,300+ miles now. After a GREAT weekend in western NC, I can truly say the 1125r will hold it's own and I need to improve my riding abilities ;+} Time2Work Neil S. |

Tasmaniac I believe it was on this forum (cant seem to find it though) That someone had the same prob. as your having. I think all they needed to do was tighten the battery cables and recharge. If im wrong sorry but im sure of seeing it here. |

I`ve tried the charge your battery crap and mine still poops and dies exactly like Neil described. 1900 miles edit: Sometimes once per ride and sometimes several annoying times per ride. I usually do 100 to 250 miles per ride. There doesnt seem to be any predictable reason for it. (Message edited by dalton_gang on April 17, 2008) |

Mine used to do exactly what you are describing. It happened 6 maybe 7 times when breaking in. Now with 1900 miles it runs very smooth and has not happened again. I guess the internals where too "tight" when brand new. Now I can even leave it in 1st gear and let the rpms drop down to 1500 and it will not stall. Forget doing that until it breaks in. Just be patient and ride it! I noticed a big difference after the 600 miles when I started giving it more gas. The more I trashed her, the more she liked it and the better it performed. |

I was having the stalling problem too. Drained a bit of oil out and it's been better since then. |

Don't park it in the dealership service bay for a week. Just use the dam thing, it is what it needs |

Not sure it's completely normal, I have never had mine die, stall or run rough, only 680 miles on the ODO. Bike was over full with oil when I picked it up, but still ran very good. Have had a couple odd electric items, and a small antifreeze leak, but nothing else. Taking it in to the dealer is probably the best thing to do. If nothing else, it as at least documented. |

Hold true until you've crossed the 1k mark. This is the point mine really started to loosen up. All the while though, I had to let go of PRE-SLIPPER CLUTCH method of the blipping downshift...not liked on this gal...when new and tight. FYI...After 3k miles, I can and do the blip downshift and never have had her die since...although, honestly, the blip doesn't help at all like we might be prior used to...FYI. Like I said, unique gal she is... Just downshift without throttle input and see what she likes... ...go from there. No good still?...Head to Dealership and let em do their warranty thing. Best of luck and ride safe! |
