Tubers, I've owned 4 Buells, love 'em, but currently have only 1 in the garage (S2 Signature). I toy with the idea of having an all Buell garage. Please share your thoughts on Buells you'd own in these catagories Extended touring: Trips of 7-10 days. Which model would you spend 10 days on? (current bike is a Road Glide) Commuting: Trips to the grocery/daily rider. (M2? XB12S? X1?) Collectable: Eye candy. S1? S2? (Practicality be damned) M |

If I could stock a garage full of Buells: RR1200: commuting, general riding, short trips RSS1200: commuting, general riding, short trips S2: commuting, general riding, short trips, longer trips with soft bags M2: commuting, general riding, short trips, longer trips with soft bags and maybe reinstall the Ventura rack S1: commuting, general riding, short trips Collectability? I don't collect bikes, I just ride them. Possibly an RS with the flipup tail section just for the novelty of it. S3 and X1 haven't done much for me personally. I haven't been able to wrap my mind around an X-frame Buell, again just a personal thing. And the Uly is just tooooooo tallllllll for me as a daily ride bike. I could be fine with the S2 as my only Buell. I was fine with the M2 as my only Buell, and it worked well on an extended trip. I think the FLT would be my current pic for an extended trip. |

Well, right now I'm set up thusly: S2 - commuter, two sets of bags (narrow/wide), "classic" daily ride S1W - toy, hooligan, brain-cobweb-blower-outer UlyX - new commuter, 3 piece luggage, bad terrain ride (for the 3/4 mile gravel driveway to land we're building on), 2-up bike with the wife FLHP - the "old" 2-up bike. Still fun to mess with braindead cagers with it though (still-striped ex-cop bike). (Message edited by ratbuell on April 16, 2008) |

I have a Uly for extended trips and an X1 for around town. Works fine for me. Ideal garage would probably be an XT instead of the Uly for 2 up with dog touring, an S3T for one up touring, the X1 for in town and an 1125R for longer hi speed day or overnight trips. |

"Extended touring: Trips of 7-10 days. Which model would you spend 10 days on?" XB12R or XB12XT Ulysses or 1125R Crusader (my name) "Commuting: Trips to the grocery/daily rider." My '97 Cyclone. "Collectable: Eye candy. S1? S2? (Practicality be damned) " XBRR. |

My ideal garage would be a lot bigger than the three bike garage I have now. It's a tight fit, but it holds my 07' Ultra. For long two up trips. It's important to keep the girlfriend happy or your not riding very far! The 00' S3-T is my solo long distance touring bike and is my favorite bike. And then for my hooligan bike I have my 00' X-1. If there was room, I'd add an 1125R, just for the lust factor!! Maybe if I move the living room furniture around a little, I could fit one in the house?? |

I would just keep the bikes I have: And that would include my old Triumphs and my Suzuki Bandit 1200 along with my Buells. My 02 M2 is best for most all-around riding and my S3T is great for long distances/touring. If I added a third Buell, I would want one on the early ones with an XR 1000 motor (for looking at and talking about). But mostly, I would just ride the M2. Cheers, Dave |

>>>I would love to have COURT"S garage stable! I'm afraid it's a might thin these days . . . but I've been in a bike shop looking as recently as this afternoon. I love reading these lists. I've logged significant miles on ALL the above . . except the Ulysses (Which I know better than to get near . . . ) Reading each and every one of those model names brings back wonderful memories. The RR-1200 was an elegant bike. And . . my love and many happy miles on the RS-1200 is well chronicled. A guy asked me once if I'd take $25K for my S2 . . . I just laughed and told him to start bidding for my sons . . . he'd find my tipping point quicker. And . . . well . . each time I see M2 . . . I utter to myself . . . "One of the best motorcycles EVER made . . .I can prove it". M2's are special Buells. |

My dream garage is fully stocked: My S1W. They say the 1125R is a refined version of the XBRR. If I could get a street-legal RR, that would be the only other inclusion, without having ridden an 1125 yet. I know I would happily own ANY Buell. But those two are all my heart lusts after. Just today, a guy asked me if I'd ridden a Hayabusa, and I just gave an indifferent "Eh.". "What did you think about riding the GSXR1000 or the ZX14?" was his reply. "Eh." was the response. "Well?" he said, exasperated. "What does impress you?" I don't think he knew what I was talking about when I said "Buell XBRR is the only bike that has ever impressed me." |

My original thought was ONE OF EVERYTHING, but to answer your question... Extended touring- My 2000 M2 with bags and a custom made corbin seat (to kindly accommodate "low hanging fruit") Commuting- My 2000 M2 -as is Collectable- Volcano/molten M2, XBRR, or an S1 dressed in black bodywork with a molten orange frame and "built to the hilt"...all signed by the man himself, of course. Can I have one of each please? I've already got an S2T for my eye candy and touring duties and an XB9S for city hooligan escapades. If I could add one it would be a dedicated XB9/12R track bike or a 1125R street/track bike. |

I already have the only Buell I need. Though I am very fond of the early S1's, I am more than happy w/ my X1. Off topic a little, I would love to have an MV Augusta Brutale and maybe a Ducati tourer for longer trips. |

>>>Have you talked to him lately. Yep. Several times lately. Each time I call for "a few minutes" we end up on the phone for 90 minutes. He won't sell it. I'm glad he found a gal, he was really hurt when he broke up with the last one. What a guy. I'm going to give him a call to make sure he''ll be at Homecoming. He and I have a little "annual tradition" that dates back to not long after that bike was built. Court |

I think I've been in on the tradition before. All Buell garage? I'll always have at least one Buell, own two at present, but there are a lot of other offerings to enjoy. My RS was my only bike for a couple years, I used it for everything, including touring. (Message edited by Rich on April 18, 2008) |

Interesting Thread.... I have thought about it a bit. I would like to have a RSS1200 but had to pass on one recently. I am very happy with my XB12R, S1W and S2T. I would really like to try a XB12XT and would like to have a M2 project (orange frame and the dark gray bodywork) XB12R = smooth, quick and refined S1W = loud, violent, fast and rude S2T = elegant and sexy with a mean streak XLH1200 = next project I would not hesitate to own another of either one. I have a soft spot for Sportys but love the Buells. If I could have only one Bike it would be a M2 or S2. They can do everything. If I could have only one Harley it would be a Sporty. |
