My 1125R has 460 miles on the odo. My average fuel mileage is 33/mpg, as computed by my bike. I live at 2300' ASL, and do most of my riding at that altitude, or a little higher (altitude-not mental state). Avg. temps are in the 60's (with 50's and 70's at the extents). I use 91 octane Chevron. I have driven the bike within the confines of the breakin procedure; about three to five times per ride, I twist the throttle pretty hard, otherwise, I've ridden fairly sane. I characterize this riding mode as 'normal' (see below). How many miles have you ridden your 1125R? How do you characterize your riding, i.e. spirited, normal, slowpoke? What's the altitude where you ride most of the time? What's the average temp? What kind of gas do you use, and octane? What is your average MPG, as computed by the 1125R? | ||

mine now has 300 miles on it I ride "spirited" Average temp is probably now around 45 degrees Altitude?? not sure. Fargo ND 91 octane, any gas station The average MPG on my computer now is 24. There is a lot of idle warm up time that lowers the average. | ||

760 miles normal to spirited I live at 350' ASL but ride from there up to over 5000'. Ave temps now in mid 80s. Mostly Chevron and always 91 oct or higher. 31 mpg | ||

3k miles now...at sea level...70-85'F average temps in Central Florida this time of year and close to since new in Jan 08. No matter how I drive her...the averages tally 30 miles to a gallon of high test since we broke the 800 mile mark. Below that, 24-26 was the norm...which is not unheard of with this gal. | ||

Sea level, 2600 miles, 91 octane, hard running, 29 measured mpg. Taking it easy, 32 measured mpg, stays at 30 on the "average mpg" counter. Mostly all twisty backroads, I haven't done 5% of my riding on the highway yet. Temps ranging from the twenties(rare, and at night) to the 80's, mostly 40's to 60's. I am thinking of trying out pulling the inner airbox cover to see if it helps mileage, I don't mind the sound as is, and wouldn't mind it a bit louder, for an mpg gain... | ||

5950 miles 36 mpg avg. 80/20 street/twisties 5000' elev, up to 9000' for twisties, down to sea level week before last for a week - 2600 miles. Avg temp probably 40˚, 14˚- 91˚ for extremes. Premium, Shell or Conoco mostly, 91+ Zack | ||

My avg was 35 at the beginning of the trip and went to 36 along the way. I kept most of the gas tickets with miles, but am too lazy to sit down and add them up. I was routinely hitting the fuel light at 160 miles. I'd fill to just over the neck ring and not let the bike lean at all. Only dribbled fuel out the vent once.  Z Zack | ||

I was routinely hitting the fuel light at 160 miles. That's encouraging! I look forward to finishing break-in...I have only been able to do between 109 and 119 miles before the fuel light telling me to find a place to stop. | ||

Just some FYI, I believe, after getting about 42 mpg on a spirited ride in the canyons/twisties but keeping under 7500 rpm's yesterday that at least some fuel mileage here in elevation at 4100 ft.and up to 7500 ft., that with the leaner air the ECM correspondingly cuts fuel, and some H.P. unintentionally of course, resulting in somewhat better mileage then someone would get nearer sea level. Many things affect mileage and a steady 70-80 mph pushing wind at lower elevations would be much less. Comments/observations? | ||

Dunno about the altitude, Bob. I was still getting around 160 miles to the light when in Texas, at near sea level(+150' maybe). Then again, Buell said she was running rough down there because the ECM never reset to the lower altitude. So she was running a bit lean down there. Engine temp topped out at 187˚ on a 91˚ day. Zac, 160 miles to the low fuel light is great! At least for me, thats about where I am looking for a break. I did only 105 when I fueled up and it just took 2.5 gal. I was delighted. One of my favorite runs is 110 miles to gas up. Great. You gettin' very "high" yet? Its spring time in the Rockies. Stay safe. Bob | ||

hey guys, i'm new to the board, first post. i have 700 miles on mine, 160 ft. elevation in NJ, normal to spirited riding, temps have been anywhere from 30 degrees in the morning to 60 in the afternoon. all highway driving averages me an indicated 35 mpg, 37 if i stay at or under 70 mph (hahahahahahaha). my commute, a pretty equal mix of highway and city, gets me anywhere between 28 and 32 indicated mpg. i'm pretty sure she'd get better mileage if a quarter of the fuel tank didnt evaporate out everytime i park the bike after a long run... | ||

I've been averaging 28 or 29 mpg since I got mine. 5300 miles on it now. I'm in the Puget Sound region, so elevation is probably 0-500' sea level. I use 92-93 octane. My bike has seen 150mph several times and I rarely run it below 4k RPM (gotta keep the charge up!). | ||

I have averaged 33.6 MPG in 2,889 miles. My worst tank has been 30.1 MPG, my best 37.4 MPG. Jack |
