"Great Job" to the folks at BMC. Just dug around the gallery some. I may have found my bike.

Looks like an XB9R rather than a Duc. Seems to me the only diff is the front fairing (or lack of) and the tail section. I like it. I didn't see any performance goodies on the site. Hopefully that will come sooner rather than later, I'm growing tired of the stock exhaust on mine... Jody S. '03 XB9R |

Well...i love the style of the tail(minus the fender extension though),i like the overall styling much better than the xb9r,im glad they aparently kept all the good chassis components....on the engine i'll just keep my thoughts to myself, ive been through that before. So...i wont be in line to buy one |

I've been saying for quite a while that all I want is a naked Firebolt with tubular handlebars and a one-piece seat. Now we finally get it and I'm not as excited as I expected to be. Visually it's just not quite as stunning as the Firebolt. I think I'll feel differently after I see one. In the meantime, here's a quick fix: Mike L. '99 Cyclone |

Hey both of you guys, thats some good computer work, really makes the bike look more like an S1!This thing definately does Not look like the Japanese bikes,i think its gonna outsell the R model by a long shot.Seems a natural to customize with that hot rod type stuff, exhaust system, carbon fiber, etc. |

Looks like the foot pegs are in the same location as the Firebolt. I would like for them to have been a little lower. This bike looks better without the stock mirrors and really needs bar ends. Overall, it's pretty cool and I like the yellow color better than either the blue or white of the Firebolt. |

Does it need to have that chin spoiler? And are those passenger pegs detachable (without a saw or torch, that is)? |

I could be wrong, but it looks like they're a touch lower than the 9R pegs. Compare these photos: In any case, it's growing on me fast. I was hoping for a bit more in terms of passenger comfort, but it's about time she got her own bike anyway. Mike L. '99 Cyclone |

Now that a new true streetfighter has been made by Buell I figure that Banke and Crossroads will be making replacement rearsets, lower and lighter looking at least (or maybe adjustable. )All in all this is the bike I actually expected them to make first but I guess they needed something to race. I wonder if they plan on maybe changing the cams to change around the where the power is. I would rather have it give me more torque like a M2 than the present lightnight higher HP. This is good looking though. Also anyone else notice that the lightning has a bigger wheel on the Belt tensioner |

I hope your right about the foot pegs Spike. Cornering clearance doesn't seem to be a problem but some have complained about a cramped seating position. How about a red one |

PURPLE with a black frame. I can't beleive that Buell got rid of the Grape Blast to bring back ORANGE |

The smaller tensioner was pre-production. All the production XB9R's have the large wheel. |

Go to the Buell website and look at the mini website for this bike. It has many pictures and more information on this bike. I think this is bad ass!!! |

I'll move this over here DSS dish? Cup Holder? Laptop desk? Rear speaker of the new LIGHTNING SOUND SYSTEM? What is this for? They shouldn't be made to sell it with the passenger pegs or that tag extender, but that's an easy fix. I like the ergonomics much better than the Firebolt already just looking at it. So far, the 2003 lineup consists of a beginner bike, and two identically priced bikes genetically identical except for the colors and ergonomics (like the SV650 and SV650S). There are some MAJOR GAPS to fill in that lineup, hopefully later this year or next year. They need something between the Blast and the XB's (think SV650ish) and they need the WORLD BEATER, that at least LOOKS like the race bikes and has the same displacement (1200-1300cc). A sport tourer would be nice, if they want to go the "adventure tourer" route I MIGHT be interested. |

Here's what's coming from Aprilia: Ducati has their new AIR-COOLED, Testastretta-derived Vtwin powered 800SS coming to a dealer near you soon. KTM will unveil their Duke V2 in September Triumph has their Speed Triple and the new Speed Four. The FZ1, Bandit, ZRX, 919, are already here, and maybe a Suzuki SV1000 (SV650 with the TLS engine) will join the crowd from Japan. There are also rumours of a 1500cc VMAX! The "streetfighter" market is getting crowded! |
