I recently finished graduate school, and I am considering selling my Buell in order to free up money in my budget since my student loan payments will be starting shortly. I purchased this motorcycle in late July of 2004, and I have put just under 14,000 miles on it since then. During the past two seasons I have only put just about 3,000 miles on it, so I think it is time to see about selling it. I have kept up on all the maintenance on the bike, and it has had synthetic in both the engine and primary since about 5,000 miles (Mobile 1 V-twin). The pictures show the process of the modification of the bike. The last picture is the way it looks currently. Here is a list of the mods I can remember off the top of my head: K&N, open airbox conversion Black Jet-hot coated Jardine Painted the frame swingarm, triple tree, case covers, gauge cluster mount and all of the footpeg hangers semi-gloss black. Frame Pucks 06 Belt Chrome Hear and There Ermaxx undertail Black powdercoated wheels, fork tubes and bases Jet hot coated headers Smoke double bubble stock seat foam replaced with memory foam Right side scoop Tires have about 500 miles (Continental Road Attacks) New battery March of 2008 I am very firm on the price as I am just attempting to sell the bike for enough to pay off the note. I will allow test rides, but only after having the cash put in my hand. Asking $6,000 obo |

Yeah, a couple of those pictures were from before the Jardine came back from Jet Hot coating. I didn't ride like that, notice the snow in those pictures.... |

Bump..... Anyone? The bike will go on ebay the 19th or 20th with a reserve of around $5K. I would like to sell it to a badwebber. If anyone is interested make me an offer and we'll see what we can come up with. |

I REALLY like what you did with this... How are the parts that you painted holding up? They are rattle-canned, I guess? How about the powder-coated parts- holding up good? The only thing holding me back from making you an offer right now is the fact that you are 37hrs away (round trip), and the high miles on the bike... But who knows...? Stranger things have happened. |

Thanks man! The paint has held up really well. It is a semi-gloss black engine block paint. When I did it I took the bike down pretty far, taped and painted quite a few layers down after I prepped everything. The powdercoat was done in January of 07, and it probably only has about 500 miles worth of riding on it. It looks just like it did the day I picked it up from the coater. The jet-hot isn't as deep and clean looking though. It is about impossible to keep that stuff really dark. I'm planning to take the bike out of the warehouse next week for a bath. I'll get some pictures of it out in the sun when I do. As for the trip, I understand. That is a long trek. I'll throw in a couch to sleep on for a night before you go home! What about catching a cheap flight from NJ in to KC and taking a Uhaul pick-up one way back? That would cut the trip by a ton and probably not be that much different in the cost...... I added some pics of the painting for you to check out. My friend's told me I got a little carried away with the taping and prepping, but I wanted it to hold up the way it has and I know the prep work is just as important as the painting.

"What about catching a cheap flight from NJ in to KC and taking a Uhaul pick-up one way back? " ==== Not something I ever considered, but worth a look into i guess. If I had a truck that didn't get 10MPG (01 Silverado 2500HD 496ci motor), I wouldn't mind driving out. If I did get it, most likely I would have it shipped after I found one of my member's in KC to have a looksie for me, first: http://www.zr2usa.com/members.php?s=Kansas (I did that with the pickup truck i just mentioned, which i got on ebay from Chicago. One of my website member's happened to live 5min away and as able to look it over for me!) Anyway- please email me some pics of it's current state (maybe bigger ones?) when you take her out next week: devriessignsATgmailDOTcom Thanks- Rog |

Sure thing Roger. I think the forecast is looking pretty good here in KC next week, so I should be able to get some good pictures of it for you. I'll get them sent to your email before I resize them for posting. After you get to see the new pictures I'm more than happy to meet up with one of your friends. I don't think I would be comfortable with anyone other than the perspective buyer taking a test ride, but I can start it up for him and take it out around the block so he can see it in action. I just hate the thought of someone that isn't interested in buying it themselves owing me a bunch of money for repairs..... I'm sure you understand. |

Well Olinxb12r I am doing some finacial juggling right now and will have the available funding by the middle of next week to make you a serious offer hopefully. 5.5 hours is not all that far for me. So if it is still available then I will be calling you. |

Sounds good Skip. I don't have an offer on it as of yet. I always consider something for sale till their is cash and a handshake. In this particular case someone calling me to say they are on their way to pick it up will work. I've driven a couple hours to pick up a bike only to have it sold while I was on the way, and I won't do that to somebody. I took a look at the weather for next week, and I was wrong..... It looks like tomorrow is going to be the only sunny day for a while, so I'll clean the bike and get some new pictures up here tomorrow for you guys. I just rode it down to the hardware store to get some keys made for work, and know I'm going to regret selling it after every time I ride it. After putting less than 1,000 miles on it last summer I know it is the right thing to do at this point, but damn it will be hard to see it ride off in somebody's truck. |

I definitely understand the test ride thing! It never even dawned on me for you to let that happen. Like you said, i would just like to have a second pair of eyes to confirm everything is kosher, that's all. Jardine on a 1200?? I wonder how my neighbor's will like the sound of this...lol.
