Dan, a few words of wisdom to the guy in the photo, "The older I get, the more padding I wear" "The weak get weaker and the strong get better gear" "Might help keep insurance rates down in the long run" Keep the RSVP's coming for the BBQ, I'm counting 15 so far. Chris 'n' Loni |

Sorry to hear of the get-off, Ray and Lyle. Glad there's no serious injuries. I have been slightly castigated for my suggestion to start a BC Storm Fronts heading (which Lorraine and Don actually got running.) Breaking up the original PACBOG, I'm told. Reading Blake's history of the BadWeb in Battle 2Win, I realize more the roots PacBog (and this Storm Front) have here. None-the-less, it has been noted long ago that this is the most active Front by far (and the suggestion made to move it to the top of the index to avoid all the scrolling.) What I was seeing was that with so much posting from south of the border, a casual visitor from Canada might assume that there isn't a Canadian presence here and go elsewhere. Beside, the Swiss is too far to go from here. So, we still have this here Front to keep in touch with our friends in the south and get these crossborder rides organized. And we have a Canadian (BC) section to maybe get some local riding group together without getting drowned out by all the activity in the south. Have fun at St. Helens. NO MORE GET-OFFS! I'll be thinking of you guys (and gals.) In other news. Jim has adapted his take-off, stock ZRX shocks to fit the Sporty. Had to fab new neopreme bushing. I'll be putting them on Friday. Yee ha! Bring on the Triumphs. |

I'll attend the BBQ and SPLASH. I have not done anything about finding a room yet though, maybe I'll just bring a bag and a tarp. It is my understanding that on the weekend of August 17 there is a regional HOG meeting on Mt. Hood. I think they will be holding events, battle trax, in Welches. If anyone it interested I will be staying at a cabin in Government Camp and you all are welcome to join me, it is actually a "Buell" cabin. I don't know how much time I will spend at the HOG deal but there are nice roads to ride around Hood. Any new lurkers out there? Guy on S1WL, white X1, blue M2? I've been directing people here and to the BRAG group. I think we should have business cards made for the club, ED Jr. said he would pay. |

Thanks. I'm debating bringing the bikes along in August on a trailer (if I can find a suitable cross-country trailer) and may make an escape for a day while out there. I also remember that about the maps out there. Many years ago (mid-70's) I was riding over near Brewster in E.WA. and a couple of us were following a map that clearly showed a bridge across the Columbia river. No bridge. Oh well, took a 100 mile detour, but we were in no hurry anyway. Wound up coming over the North Cascades in rain and hail on the west side. I think we were dry by the time we hit Seattle. I'm just now warming back up. |

A funny thing just happened and I don’t quite know what to make of it. I don’t know if I should laugh or cry. I called Destination HD in Tacoma, WA. to see if they had finished the damage estimate on my bike and a nice young lady answered the phone with “Destination Harley Davidson / Buell, How may I help you?” I said I had a Buell in the service department and wanted to talk to them. She then said “Oh, then you know what a Buell is. That’s good because I get so tired of people saying ‘Huh, What’s a Buell?’” We chatted for a second about how much I liked my Buell, then she switched me to service. Friends, I think the Buell brand is doomed. Metric people would rather ride a Vespa than be seen in a Harley store and Harley people don’t even know what a Buell is. Woe is us, all is lost. As a side note and as a totally separate rant: Don’t these HD guys EVER read a magazine or talk to other riders? They really seem to live in their very own separate universe. I mean, honest to God, these guys actually think they’re just as good as everyone else. They seem to be totally convinced they’re fast just because they’re loud and they don’t have a clue what the “Jap Bikes” can do. They are so into their own little cruiser world that they don’t even know what a Buell is! In the middle of winter I wave at everybody that’s out ridding and everyone waves back except for the “Attitude Dudes” on their obnoxiously loud and slow Fat Boys. I’m not asking these guys to ride a sport bike, the world is probably a safer and better place if they don’t, but you would think they would at least know about sport bikes. They can ride whatever they want but, please, put the attitude away and get a clue what the rest of the world is all about. As a Buell rider, these guys embarrass me in front of other sport riders AND THEY DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT A BUELL IS! The sport bike guys know about Buell's but the HD guys don't. We're doomed I tell ya, doomed! All is lost. |

Ray, come on, it's not that bad. Things are turning around. These folks are learning what a Buell is, slowly, but still learning. Problem is, they also now the HP numbers being put out by other manufacturers. Which is why my Brother picked up the RSV. Now if Buell installed a motor like that, I'm sure he would have gone with it. So for now, he's got both these: Steve(2) ps, I think he waves, but I'm not sure the world (or he) is safe. |

Oh please! Somebody stop me before I do something I'll regret. My wife, the one I married 29 years, 12 days, four hours and fifty one minutes ago, and whom I love more than life itself did something SO stupid I'm tempted to shoot her. Somebody hold me back! She (I can not mention her name) was at the Target store yesterday and saw black t-shirt that said "I DO ALL MY OWN STUNTS" and she didn't buy it. I went back to the store and couldn't find it. It was a size large and she didn't buy it. If it didn't fit me it would have fit Lyle and she didn't buy it! Ten f***ing dollars and she didn't buy it! She didn't want to "hurt your feelings" so she didn't buy it. Somebody hold me back! |
