I'm in need of new plugs and wires on my xb 12r 2004 it only has 5400mi on it and I would like to make this as painless as possible if anyone could help me out I would appriciate it | ||

unless you have the correct tool too do a reach around on your engine take it somewhere its a pain in the arse. | ||

Just do it the way it says in the manual. Make sure you have wobbly extensions and the correct size spark plug sockets and box wrenches (or crescent) to go with them. Long needlenose plier are a help too. | ||

I use a pair of plug wire pliers from the auto parts store. Without them it is almost impossible to get the wired off, especially the rear one. | ||

+1 on the plug pliers. Leave the rubber boots on the plug pliers as well. They protect the plug lead as you really have to grip it with quite a lot of force sometimes to get the boot off the rear plug. | ||

I used a pair of needle nose pliers to get the plug wire off to change the plug. I couldn't find my wire puller. It worked, but I wouldn't advise it. Also, changing the plugs was a HUGE PITA. I think I'm taking it to the stealership the next time they need to be changed. Too much of a hassle IMO. | ||

The easiest way is to use tools. Bare handed it's almost impossible.  | ||
