Today I went to a Buell demo event at Jims HD in St Pete and rode several different models, The XB12S, XB12Ss, the 1125R, and the Ulysses. The 1125R was the most fun but I decided the bike for me is the XB12Ss Lightning long. My dealer has an 07 in stock that will go out the door for well below list. It is possibly the ugliest color I have ever seen on a Motorcycle, some sort of Red/orange and I love it. I have some an idea for a little custom paint work on the tank panel that will look cool with the stock color staying on the fenders and such. Anyhow, the bike has a hold tag with my name on it while I scrape up the down payment and I should have it under my ass by the end of the month. Woo Hoo, Ive been dying to get back in the saddle. Oh, by the way, Hi everybody. Im new here. I have been riding Motorcycles most of my life but this will be my first dive into a sportbike. I have always owned Harleys or standard motorcycles. I am ready for something different. |

Clever move Scotto, and welcome aboard. The Ss is a great bike. Overlooked by some of its more obstreperous siblings, I believe it is the best Buell for most people, and should be considered the "Standard" Buell. PS: It's sort of a secret, but there is also Harley topic on this board too. It's called "Critical Mass", and is located just above the "Racing " topic. |

Nevrenuf; How much under list? I'm thinking about an XT, and a Fly, buy & ride might be fun. |

i'll be taking a loan out for 4k to grab the bike after the trade in. before i decided to go with a dealer i had been working with for the past 7+ yrs, gerry at granite mountain was gonna do a trade in +4270 with a 250 in store gift card to go along with it. i went ahead and told barker about it but if he isn't ready. those guys down there really seem like they want to have happy customers. the xt that they have has 300 miles on it from taking it up to march badness and it's red. i really didn't think my dealer down in tampa was gonna give me a deal and i was prepared to take the truck down, pick up the nightster and take it to granite. if i hadn't alread bought 5 bikes through them and my daughter just left there after 2 1/2 years i would have gone to georgia. although my dealer has gone down hill as far as buell goes but they have made me some great deals over the years. i did promiss gerry that i would do wha ever i could to make sure someone would go there to get that bike. and being up here in greenville i don't have a local buell dealer to deal with so i will consider them highly as a serviceing dealer. even if it is 150 miles away. and remember,if you snooze you looze. give em a shout. |

Scotto - you're gonna love the Sunset Orange. One of my customers was in yesterday with his Ss in that color and seeing it again reminded me just how great it looked. I don't know if its the color, or the fact that the wheels match the bodywork, or what...but I love it. Congrats, and welcome to the board. You're going to love your new addiction...er, motorcycle ;) |

Congratulations Scotto. Bought mine from Jim's too. Welcome! Thanks for the welcome! Dont tell anyone, but Im not buying it from Jims. I went to Jims for the Demo ride, but Im buying it from Fletchers. Not that I dont like Jims or anything, but Fletcher has been good to me over the years. |

i kinda figured it was fletchers and not jims. although i'm waiting to see what jim's nephew brings with his interest in buells. talked to him last month when i was down and he seemed really interested in the bikes and even told him about the badweb. if you got some time, get ahold of buellistic over in brandon and try and go on one of the lakeland buell/h-d breakfast rides the first saturday of the month. usually a great ride. |

Dont tell anyone, but Im not buying it from Jims. Good move. I will buy my next Buell from Fletcher's. Fletcher's is much more Buell friendly. Had them do my last warranty repair and recall. |
