Hey all, I have a 02 S3T with K&N, SuperTrapp (w/21 discs), Race ECM, 4600 miles. I recently got the TPS reset... but it did not seem to make much of a difference. The bike runs fairly well. I am just not use to the "industrialness" of these motors... so all seem a bit less refined as I am use to... OK... so here are my questions... - Does anyone know where in the Seattle area I can take the bike and get it dyno tuned? - Do does anyone us high temp sealant between the exhaust and header? I have cranked the clamp down fairly well, I have pretty much eliminated any leaks, can really feel anything coming out, but am wonder how tight of a seal do you really need to have this connection. - The bike run smooth at about 3300 and beyond, below that it is fairly smooth, but if held at a constant speed I get a little bit of random surging... I am assuming this is likely normal for a "just a bit" out of tuned torquey twin such as this... my only other experience is my DL1000 (Vstrom)... so not much to compare. - What is the best windshield you have found for the bike? My bike came with a modified front fairing bracket that raise it 1 3/4" or so, the stock windshield with a laminar lip installed... it works pretty well. The air is smooth, but the bike also came with a Rifle screen (looks like it was taking off of an old WWII fighter plane), and a Smoked Zero Gravity. So with that in mind... what have you found to be a goo setup on the bike? I could try them I guess, but figured I would just inquire. - What # of Supertrapp discs have you found to be the sweet spot for your S3? Well, that is about it...thanks for all the help... Jason |

The smoothness at 3K Rpm and up is a factor of the rubber mounts. I would check the mounts for tears or rips anyways, but all sounds good. Set the timing on this bike. If it's off, it will have a huge impact on drivability. Unless you have ECMSPY, Directlink, or a powercommander, dynotuning will do little for you. There's nothing to tune without one of these. |

And typically no sealer req'd at the header, except maybe some orange high-temp on the expansion slits. |
