I did mine last year and used the stock set up also. I question weather or not aftermarket ignition would work better. I just bought dyna 2000 single fire, soon as the weather breaks here in michigan i can give a better report. |

To bad you can't just plug in an M2 unit, or can you? |

Dave I run a crane fireball ignition and crane coil. No need for a VOES, but the ignition has the provision for it if you desire. There are only two wires from the Buell harness still required. The gray power wire to the coil and the Pink wire to the tach. I have my wire harness open removing the excess wires no longer required. If I remember correctly the red wire is for the center terminal and is power to the ignition, the black for the front cylinder, the white to the back, brown to the tach and the green for the voes. Don't trust me look at the instructions. I feel that adding this stand alone ignition offers me the most stable and least likely to fail configuration. Joe |

The Daytona Twin Tech system is a good value and has good versatility. I got mine out of the Tucker Rocky Bikers Choice catalog for about 300 total(you'll need the rotor) check it out. |

Dave Sorry for the late reply. Didn't notice a change in the fuel economy but the motor was hurt. It now has an 88" with a HSR 45. Will get a fell for consumption this spring. Joe |

What year sportster ignition is the same as a 2002 M2 buell? Everytime I look up an aftermarket ignition, they only list sportsters THANKS |

William Pretty sure that late ninety's on will fit at least up 2002. But call/email the vendor and ask. If I'm wrong someone jump in. Joe |

What year sportster ignition is the same as a 2002 M2 buell? None Unlike all the former Cyclones, the 2002 version has some kind of ECM.Maybe because of the POP sensor,I donĀ“t know. But I know that this more X1 like ignition setup, is not compatible to the SportstersĀ“ blackbox. Ralph |

im also going to put sportster one inch handlebars with standard harley controls on the bike...it looks like the cable travel is longer on the buell clutch cable.. shouldnt the buell and the sporty have the same basic clutch, therefore the same cable travel... i ran into this same problem a couple of years ago, when i put a mikuni carb on my M-2 that had been on my dyna....it seemed like the throttle cables had too much travel that couldnt be adjusted out of them.. im just open to ideas and i guess im rambling... this has turned out to be a big project.... |
