Successfully performed the TPS reset with the VDSTS kit. It was at .2 with the valve closed, I never changed ECM or anything so I am glad I did it. I had some trouble setting the idle after it warmed up though. I have it around 1050 per the instructions but when its cold it almost wants to stall. Does that sound right? |

yes it's normal for it to want to stall on cold start up. more importantly, LET IT!!! if you go twisting the throttle you could foul the plugs, as these things have touchy plugs at cold start. if it stalls, let the fuel pump cycle then re-fire. mine almost always stalls when i first start it, push the loud button again and it stays running. |

I have it around 1050 per the instructions but when its cold it almost wants to stall. Does that sound right? No. Doesn't sound right to me. I'm firing mine up in the morning when the temps are in the 20's. I can't recall it stalling (or wanting to stall) on startup once. Not ever. I would recommend reseting the idle when the engine is properly warmed up. Typically, waiting for the engine to hit the proper temp is the longest part of the TPS reset. I don't have the instructions in front of me, I 'think' the proper temp is around 300 degrees. |

Sorry Pwnzor I will ask for your l33t permission before I do any pwning again Yeah the warm up part is in the instructions. I set the idle to 5.1 on the TPS read out, then started the bike. It started fine, so I let it warm up to 320 (per the instructions) the bike idles fine when warm. For some reason I thought someone mentioned the idle should be 1150. It is really hard to set the idle since it is jumping around, so I set it to around 1050 but it was going up and down 30 or so RPMs. I remember upping the idle in the beginning of the last riding season. Thats got to be why I am not used to it. Any tips for adjusting the primary chain tension? |

Yes, check your clutch ramp mechanism in your primary. On you primary It’s prone to cracking and failure on the cover. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/282980.html?1200105664 Just follow the maintenance manual and you will be fine. And yes you can push on the chain to get your measurements with a shop rule. The manual I received did not have that little bit of info. |

Ouch! So the Lip is the Clutch Ramp? Sorry, have not been inside of it yet. Thanks for the tip for the chain. Hopefully I wont have any broken pieces about. Do I have to do anything with the clutch after adjusting the primary? |

Follow the manual and back off the screw 1/4 turn more than the manual suggests. This is what I am doing now for the clutch. I think what is happening to the primary at the factory that is the ramp is to tight and busts this out. I do not know for a fact. This could also be a weak primary cover. Check your cable even if it does not need oil, oil it anyway. It will help your hand in the long run. |

Man I haven't done any Phreaking in a long time. Used to be a nice way to get some free long distance. I remember stories of people getting into some private lines in the white house even. And of course: http://students.ou.edu/B/David.A.Bax-1/MFStuff/SBS tory1.html |
