Found this trunk on the web. Only eighty-eight dollars. Has LED rear lights for brake. I mounted it right through the back seat. Now it can be removed with a turn of the key. I made a connector for the LED lights to the brake lights on the bike. Can't believe that Buell put an old style 1157 bulb in the rear for brake and running light. What were they thinking? Anyway back to the trunk. Did a 300 mile ride yesterday to test out the trunk. No vibration and the trunk does not wobble. I made a rubber and closed cell foam footing under the seat so it locks in and stays firm. Getting on and off the bike requires lifting your leg over the seat instead of swinging it over the back. I'm tall enough so no problem. Check out the link and see what you think. Note my riding position with my new risers installed. Way cool and comfy! http://hurshey1brat.smugmug.com/gallery/4624053_zz wdP#272865915 |

Great looking Top Case! I'm buying a old XB9R seat on eBay and I'm going to do the same thing. I just need to find a case. |

Tankbags are easier to mount and hold almost as much (although they are more expensive ;+} ) Looks good. Too bad with my inseam challenged legs I would be doing the high hurdles to get on the bike. Riding position looks very comfortable. I'm working on the convertibars (with your experience and help). Maybe next weekend I'll have what I need to complete their installation. Time2Work Neil S. |

Tank bags are nice but you can't lock them eh. As for the cost , just over $100 with tax and shipping for the trunk. I ordered another rear seat from Buell for back up, only $49. The trunk is from Acifica, Inc. in San Jose, Ca. I'll post the link. The risers I made myself at home in my shop. Same goes for the exhaust tips. |

I like it, I wonder if they offer white for the Firebolt? |

I wonder how the Sport Trunk would look about 6" towards the rear? I also wonder if the Uly led tail light would work on a Firebolt or 1125r? |

Man thats a sharp looking top case, and for a very attractive price. I like it slide back a bit, but just having the space is nice. |

Two buells, Hey nice computer skills. I like the look too. Wish it was that easy to move it back on the bike. You definitely have me thinking now. I will do more fab research in the shop now. It's a tough life working at home in the shop. |

Bratmanrider, thanks, check out how I added shrub between the rider and case. (the sample came from just above the case) Moving the case back is a lot easier in Photoshop than real life. There is less seat to mount the case to. I'm getting another seat and buy the case next week. Thanks for the ideas! I wish I had some of the tools to do some fabricating. I want to get a set of Givi saddle bag racks and make them fit the 1125R (Message edited by Two_Buells on April 01, 2008) |

Two buells, My plan for moving the trunk back involves using a piece of aluminum diamond plate 1/8" thick mounted to the seat extending past the seat to move the trunk out. Then I need to add some support to the back probably from off the turn signal brackets. I will get started probably next week on it. Too many projects going on this week. Let me know how your doing on your set-up. Oh by the way I'm looking for a good LED light bar to mount on the back of the trunk for brake lights. Anyone have any websites to find one? |

www.customdynamics.com have lots of lights so you should be able to find what you are looking one this website. I have bought a brake light flasher, a module to turn the turn signals into running and brake lights, and a lighted license plate frame, I have a few other things to buy when I have the extra money. Baggermike, Hey thanks for the info. I ordered a six inch light bar and a 1157 LED bulb replacement. I'll have plenty of warning now for braking. Thanks again! |

I did the same thing on my Firebolt for a top case, but I used Givi. Mine will hold a full-face helmet as well. |

Xl1200r, how did you mount the side cases? Does someone make racks for the bolt, or did you fab them? |

The Trunk looks better in person, I'll take another picture with better light tomorrow. the trunk was $88.00 + 18 for shipping from here http://www.vcanhelmet.com/black805.html I also bought another rear seat. The trunk was easy to install. I just drilled four holes throught the seat. I do want to make a bracket to move it back. What is really cool is it comes off with a turn of the key |
