Buell: Coming to an H-D dealer near you...again It's no secret that Buell bikes haven't been readily embraced by the ultra-devoted Harley crowd. It's highly probable that if they didn't at least have an American powerplant they would've been driven from the village by pitch fork and flaming torch (or at least flaming paint job). If you've been to two different H-D dealers that carry Buell then you may have seen one dealer shoving its three dusty Buells into the corner next to practical riding gear, while another dealer may have gone so far as to create a separate entrance for the Buell side of the shop. In an effort to raise brand awareness and foster current growth, Buell has created a dealer within a dealer, called The Buell Experience. For now, this will still be at H-D dealers, but two stand-alone Buell dealerships are running, though they are an extension of existing Harley dealerships. The entire retail environment is designed around creating a "garage feeling" as well as an atmosphere of being uniquely Buell, catering to those riders who currently love their Buells, and enticing those that may have been interested in a Buell but most likely wouldn't have set foot in an H-D dealership. Along with displays tailored to the Buell fan, areas to hang out and general Buell goodness, each Buell Experience will have a "Knowledge Center." This will be an interactive information kiosk replete with computer terminal there to help you get Buellified. Three Buell Experience shops exist with more in the works: Skip Fordyce Harley-Davidson & Buell, Riverside, CA, Granite Mountain Harley-Davidson, Conyers, GA and Harley-Davidson of Ocala, Ocala, FL. http://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/buell/2008- buell-ulysses-xb12xt-review-77130.html Has anybody been over to Granite Mountain and checked this out? I know they are they are the sister dealership to Stone Mountain. |

Jessica and I are home safe. It was foggy as hell up on 60! I came up behind a Dawson County sheriff about halfway down 52 from 60, and he stayed in front of me all the way to the dang outlet malls, so I spent a lot more time than I'd like at the speed limit, but on the bright side, I didn't get rained on. |

Nice to see everyone. The weather just sucked this weekend. I came home and watched the Moto-GP races and went back out after 4pm. It was a lot better but everyone had went home. |

Argh, showered and clean. My garage looks like a bag lady lives in it with wet camping stuff everywhere...Still, it was an awesome time! GTMG, you should have been at March Badness Saturday. John Flickinger told us all about the Buell experience and all things Buell for the future and stuff. Sorry though. We're all sworn to secrecy. |

Ouch! Oh God! My retnas are burning! Just checked out the MBV pics link and saw Spidey in some disturbing poses while wearing his thong! Fran - sending good thoughts to your dad for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. I don't work that far from your house, so maybe we can meet on your side of town and I can get your gear back to you. We'll take good care of it for you till then. Ratyson - you forgot your chair man! We rescued it and brought it home. Since I don't work that close to your house, we'll take care of it for you till we meet again. I had an awesome time in spite of the weather. It was still good to get away, relax and not think about some things for awhile even though we didn't get to ride. Hanging out with everyone was still fun. (Was it just me, or did everyone notice that them Michigan boys ain't right? What a hoot!) |

Thanks Mrs G!! Next time Melissa and I are in town, I give you guys a call. Man, that was fun! The only bad part is that it makes me REALLY not want to be back here at work today.... On the way home I was thinking that I may try to do a one-nighter trip out to TWO during the summer... Maybe throw a couple of things on the bike, head over on a Saturday morning, get in some loops, then back on Sunday. If I do it, I'll let you guys know. |

I think I have just realised how incredably lucky we were this weekend with the weather! Could you imagine what could have happened with Spidy and that thong if it were Sunny with temps in the 80's?? I don't know about you guys... but I shudder at what COULD have transpired, I mean hell... you could kind of see through that thing! (Message edited by ratyson on March 31, 2008) |

Despite the rain, I had a good weekend. It was nice getting to visit with people and meeting so many people that I've only chatted with on line. We're already on the hunt for a "fiddy". Glitch I think C3 & 3%er's will have to have a "Fiddy" Section/Folder! Shred - thanks so much for riding Spike's 50 up to Dales for me. Obviously Carlos didn't hear (or listen) when I told him I would find you or Charlie to get the 50 so he could get his Uly! Looking forward to Buelltoberfest. Thinking we might see if we can get a cluster of cabins at Brown Mountain. Everyone take care and maybe we'll see you in June. |

I can't take the credit BA...it was G's idea and I just sort of ran with it. But I will agree with you that I am an awesomely HOT wife. Ulywife, it was a treat as always to see the C3 crowd. Here's hoping next year isn't a total wash out and we get to send those bikes out to do what they're supposed to do...which isn't act as rain catchers! |

Hello All, from LA (Lower Alabama). My father's surgery went well. He's in quiet a bit of pain, but that is to be expected. His first nurse (The Morphine Princess)in the ICU, got some of it in check. A few hours after the surgery he was looking and sounding much better than when we first saw him. It's been a long day, and we are all doing much better. Thanks ALL, for all of the good thoughts, well wishes, and prayers. You guys are great... |
