Bought a set of bags from a badweb member. the bags are great, but yesterday one of the latches broke. Anyone had any success fixing a broken latch, or is is just better to wait the month to get a new one sent to me? |

The bags are stock Uly factory hard cases. The latch is on the side case, I have tried super glue a couple times to no avail, but trying a 3rd time. The part that broke s the part that goes around the locking part(plastic)that is attached to the part that holds the case together. |

Contact your dealer. Buell was covering them under warranty and on occasion as a courtesy out of warranty. The latches are replaceable and don't cost much. The latches are the weakest parts of the bags. You CANNOT use the latches to close the bag. You must fill the bag, sit on it if anything needs compressing, and latch the bag. |

The latches only cost about $20.00 or so, and they take about five minutes to change. When one of mine broke, it took my dealer four days to get one in. I could have warranteed it, but it was less hassle to just replace it myself. Supposedly, the new latches are a lot stronger than the early versions, though visibly they're the same. |

This link is for the replacement latch for the topcase. I cannot find the latch for the saddle back, but it is hard for me to believe they don't have that also. http://www.adventurersworkshop.com/Merchant2/merch ant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=700_134&Category_ Code= You can also order a replacement part through your local dealer. Buell has a service kit for the latches. I have had no luck repairing with glue. |

How come Adventurer Workshop considers Tiger 1050's and V-Stroms adventure bikes but not Ulys? |

How come Adventurer Workshop considers Tiger 1050's and V-Stroms adventure bikes but not Ulys? Tigers were once "adventure" bikes, and VStroms have wheel sizes that at least allow the mounting of knobbies. |

I ordered the latch mechanism today just before they closed. There is a 21 day lead time to get them, but I will wait.... Superglue and Krazy glue just wasted my time. Thanks for the advise ya'll. |

DO you have the part number, I want to get a spare? I looked through the other links and didn't see it, was at the dealer and they were a bit lost as well - although the dealer, Southside Harley in Indianapolis is great, very Buell friendly! |

No I dont have the part number. Wait a month and I will, its going to take a month for me to get it. If you want, follow the link to Ray Price HD from the C3 page and give Tim a call. He will know, he had to look it up twice (Message edited by chad_nc on March 31, 2008) |

Check with the dealers who sponser this forum. I'll bet one of them has the latch in stock. Jerry. |
