Big Daddy, I am running a Ebay ERZ branch catless up, down and catback... they are pretty cheap but the fit well, I would geta 3 inch flat flange and a piece of flexpipe if you are gonna go that route as it will mate together better. |

Yo! Had a great time meeting you good folks at MB5! Sucks about the H2O but then again it's hard to talk and exit the apex at the same time! We'll be back and in greater numbers next time!!!

That was COLD. I'm worried about Spike. He has to make that trip w/o heated gear. |

Man, what a great weekend followed by an absolutely brutal ride home. My maps were wet from the rain on Saturday, so I was trying to go from memory back to I-85 from Suches. I ended up going the wrong way twice and wasting a bunch of time. It was in the 40s when I left C3 Central and I think the temperature actually dropped over the course of my ride. I stayed dry (but still wicked cold) until Charlotte, but starting picking up some mist on my face shield heading through Harrisburg. From Asheboro to Fuquay was wet the entire way. I kept wiggling my fingers and toes while trying to remember what the symptoms of frostbite and hypothermia are. Eight and a half hours later I made it home soaking wet and as cold as I've ever been. A hot shower and some dry clothes made me feel like doing it all over again next weekend. It was great to meet all of you. I'll post more when I'm fully warmed up. Did everyone else make it home in one piece?

Made it from Suches to K-town to drop off Webe in 8.5 hours. Not bad considering we stopped twice for food, teenagers! The late start and two stops for food and gas put us in a little after 11pm. Pooped so I will post waterfall pics later. Had a great time rain and all. I can't wait until October. (Message edited by M2nc on March 30, 2008) |

Hi y'all. Thanks for letting Matt and I hang out with you. We got back to Summerville, SC about 6:45 last night. Nick (Drfudd) camped at TWO and rode back as far as Aiken with us. My heated vest kept me reasonably warm yesterday, but it was weird riding home with a toasty warm body and cold legs, head, and feet. We REALLY need to do something like this again before Buelltoberfest (hopefully when it's DRY and WARM). Here's my favorite pic of the weekend. I took this at TWO Sunday morning right after they fired up the bikes to warm them up for the test riders:

Sporty - Did you see the new Harley section of badweb? http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/348 043/348043.html?1206966659 Spike - I was ok up till Charlotte when the rain started. After about 100 miles of that I was thinking I couldn't have made it w/o heated gear. Then I remembered you were coming approximately the same way and you had on preferated leather. I saw signs in GA indicating 39 degress, so it was probably closer to 35 by the time we got to NC. I think you get bragging rights for the next couple years. I got turned around in GA as well. Ended up taking 441 down to Commerce, GA, which dumps into 85 at exit 150. HW 17 is exit 173, to that's about an extra 50 miles onto the trip. I haven't checked the odometer, but I think I'm at over 800 for the weekend. I'll post up a picture next to my 40k odometer reading from Friday |

C3ers, it was great meeting you all. I wish I had got the chance to meet everyone. Kristi, Lynn sends her thanks for the freebee! The C3 sticker is proudly displayed on the S1W. It is still in the truck as I type because I am just too damn sore from driving 4K miles in the last week and a half. Frank

Frank - glad you made it home safe and sound. Glad I had a chance to meet you, maybe next time Lynn can join you. The C3 decal looks great on the S1W. Let us know when you'll be back in NC. I'll also let you know when we order some more C3 swag. Hugh - glad you and Guell made it home as well. Had fun hanging out with you guys. I think the newbies to C3 Central had fun. Too bad that cabin doesn't hold about 30 people! |

Jim, Glad you liked the pic. PM me if you'd like the full resolution version. Spike- I really enjoyed your demo of ECMspy; I learned a lot. I suspect several people that were watching will be trying it out soon. My round-trip mileage for the weekend was only 766 miles; I was hoping to beat 1000 but we didn't get to do much riding on Saturday. Nick (Drfudd) seems to have finally found us a fool-proof route for getting to Suches from southern/western SC. Every other time I've been I've missed at least one turn. So, when's the next meet? We should do a joint SC Buellers/C3 meet some time (soon!) maybe in the Greenville, SC/Brevard, NC area. That'd be about 100 miles closer for those of you in Raleigh or farther east and about 50 miles closer for us. Plenty of good roads in that area too. |

Kristi, Carlos and yeah that Fat Bastard It was great meeting you and I guess that hard shot to my head 20 years ago explains why I got Fat Bastard confused with some one else. Although our bikes stayed in the trailer the 9 hour one way trip was worth it. From the picture above maybe we should have located a hotel room and waited for Sunday, but you know hindsight is 20/20.

Kristi Xb12rdavid was also there, Mel has a few kids and I think one or two may be in their teens but not sure about the interest in the biking thing. Thanks for your help on the event shirt and I look forward to getting a chance to ride with some of the C3 crew

I'm about to change the oil on the Uly. I'm always a bit cautious doing this, as I see so many posts about people stripping the threads out of the swing arm during an oil change. I have seen a picture of an oil drain plug which screws into the hole and has a secondary plug in the center. I did some goggling, and found it's called a piggy back drain plug. They are generally used AFTER you strip the threads. Anyone know where I can get one that would go into a normal unstripped drain hole? |
