Does anyone know anything about BRAG's change/dimantle to the new Buell Owners Group. I became a member of the new group, online only, six months ago and receive FUELL magazine. Now when I bought my 1125R the dealer said they were signing me up for BRAG (now Buell Owners Group) and its various extras including insurance discounts, which I would get but I need to physically show a membership card to my underwriter (Dairyland). Calls to a few different numbers did not reveal much but I am now on HD's (why?) list. Is there actually an I.D. card/number when you belong to BOG or is there a real number/person I can talk to about this? Does anybody have any knowledge/experience with this procedure? Sounds like the dealers fed you a bit of a line... Buell went to the Owners Group about a year ago and no longer supports BRAG in any way. What you see online is what you get... No membership card, no ID number. | ||

But, your dealer is suppose to pay for your first year membership to H.O.G. I'm not saying you have to go to the meetings and what not, but it sure irritates the piss out of most of 'em when you show up on your Buell!  | ||

I joined HOG, became a member of a local chapter. Went to the first meeting...... Remember Animal House when the Kent and Larry went to the first frat house that Kent was a president of? Remember how pushed them to the geeks..."Hi, I'm Kent President of Omegas, and this is mohamad....." Same damn thing happened at the meeting..."Nice to meet you john, this is Bob, Mike, Jim and Petey...they have Buells too." | ||

OK - what that dealer is referencing is, I believe, a special rate that Buell had with Sentry insurance in certain states. All I can find is a memo dated May '06 speaking in vagueries about a partnership and a reduced rate. I'll try to find something more recent. Is Sentry/Dairyland Insurance available in your state? I don't think they are in NJ, which is why I don't have that much info at my fingertips. ->ChelleM | ||

Court, maybe I did not call it the right thing. What I was referring to is on the Buell web site for owners of Buell's. If I erred somehow, I apologize. I did not intentionally want to step on someones toes. I was just looking for some clarification on how BRAG was dropped for HOG or the current Buell owners website and what Borrowedbike referred to. Evidently, after having researched more on my own to get the insurance discount I will become a member of HOG. Thanks to all who participated in this inquiry. Bob | ||

I'm teasing. Years ago, when there were less than 50 Buell owners in the United States . . . Dr. Don Chase, Phil Wolfe and I started the Buell Owners Club. We prepared articles of incorporation (this was prior to LLC's being in vogue), by-laws and minutes of our fist meeting and duly filed them with the Secretary of State. Those were the days when Federal Motor Vehicle searches revealed there was "no such thing as a BUELL, it must be either a Bricklin or a Buick". No offense, I was funnin' ya! | ||

At the March Badness John Flickinger was unaware that new purchasers of Buells are given one year of membership in HOG and you are issued a HOG number. He seemed rather uncomfortable with the idea that a local HOG chapter(Murfreesboro Tn)would be welcoming to Buells and why would any of us want to join? Seems like corporate wants to keep us apart too. |
