Anyone want to get together for a day trip? I'm located in Solano County "between S.F. & Sacramento" I have all kinds of great routs including twisties to and from the wine country and up and down the coast. Almost all my riding buddies ride Harley's which is fine, but it would be nice to ride with bikes that can keep up. Right now and for the next month or two is absolutely the best time of year for a ride. Chime in or PM me if your interested. |

Fubar, I may be able to go on Sunday, I'm just waiting for a new rear tire to be delivered, should arrive any day. Work is slow right now so during the week will also work. Less traffic etc.. Keep posting maybe we can pick up a few more! |

I'm thinking Sunday morning meet at the corner of Suisun Valley Rd. and Rockville Rd. in Suisun, there is a coffee shop/deli right there across the street from the quick stop. From there we can ride up past Lake Berryessa and drop in to Middletown for lunch? Then head out through Napa and finish up wherever. I'm thinking a 10:30 start. Let me know. Jeff |

I know how that goes, son played football, in college now and daughter plays competitive soccer, would be in state cup this weekend but recovering from ACL surgery. If it doesn't pan out we can hit it another time. I'm going to give Joe a call at H.D. Buell Vallejo and see if he wants to go. |

Looks like a nice day,it's great to ride with a bunch of Buells. Who does the Uly closest to the camera belong to? Just asking 'cos I'm interested in the h/bar mounted spotlight and deer whistle? (lol) Any details on the light? Can it be aimed whilst riding? |

Hey fellas, well I had a PAINFUL ride back on the back of Scott's Electra, I hope I never have to do that again! and I'm quite sure Scot feels the same way Well I headed imediately back over the mountain, not nearly as fun in a truck but a hell of a lot better then on the back of that Harley myself 230lbs hanging on to a 280lbr with my ass on a p**sy pad and bottumed out suspension for a 100 miles of twisties but got the Uly loaded up and home at about 8:30. When I get home from work I will install a new rear plug and plug wire if I can find one in stock somewhere. If that doesn't do it I will probably take it in. From now on I will be carrying a spare of each and the proper tools to go along with it. Through all that I still had a good time and enjoyed meeting you all and we will certainly do it again soon, I ride almost every weekend so I will post when I do and I will update you on the fix. bike w/ spotlight is mine;looking for rifle rack mount;compound bow rack and mountain bike rack/mount next. and yes the spotlight is very bright,it comes in handy as stock lights are too weak. |

Well picked up 4 new plugs two that are going directly to my on board tool kit along with plug wire pullers, wobble socket, extention, and 3/8" fuel line to start back plug, and extra plug wire. Well fellas the rear plug was completely fowled, replaced both with platinums, wires were like new so re used them and will replace them next time around. Got stranded over a $10.00 part, will NOT happen again, at least not that part. The bike runs stronger then ever the plugs were starting to fowl for the last few weeks, I was thinking it was in need of a TPS reset or some dyno work. I think I will change them out every 4000 miles or so with the right tools in hand and $20.00 for plugs the whole job only takes 15 minutes. |

Crowdog I am glad all is in order now. It was a good day that ended too quickly. By the time we got back to Tracy we covered 266 miles. I would like to ride with the guys again they are all great. Was changing the rear plug doable in the field or did you need your shop? I would like to see how it is done. |

Seems Crowdog's scoot was not the only thing impaired on Sunday. The cold meds I was popping all day were *night-time formula". Note to self...never buy meds without your glasses on. I knew I was a bit buzzy, but thot it was just the cold. I am *very* sorry I put the group and myself at risk. Next time I'm sure I will ride better and be a lot less goofy. |

Crowdog, Are the new plugs different from what comes from the factory? I have heard the '08s have a different plug that isn't supposed to foul and was wondering if they would fit my '07. |

Irelage that's some serious mileage, hey that rhymes! and yes definitely a repair that can be done in the field, you would need to add plug wire pullers any auto parts store, about $5.00 and a length of 3/8" fuel line to feed the rear plug into the cylinder to your Buell tool kit but you have everything else, of course a spark plug would help too. I put mine up on a lift so I don't have to bend over so much. Bring some plugs on the next ride and I will do a field demo on your bike, it's that easy! Fubar I was out front so I missed it but glad all was O.K., not your time yet, look forward to our next ride. The plugs I installed were different than stock they were platinum, I believe the heat range is the same but they help reduce fouling and supposed to have a better spark and reduced corrosion. They were H.D. plugs though. THey offered three types for the XB's regular "stock" gold and platinum. |
