Keeps that left boot extra grippy, too, no doubt. |

Here's a shot of the S1 along side of my other project vehicle, a '98 Z24! The Z is fun, so far I've upgraded the suspension with Koni's and Eibach's, and 1" rear Addco sway bar. I've also installed Baer brakes. Next is motor 'tweakage' ! ! !

Blake, Thanks! I had MANY other photo ops, especially after I got to Skyline Drive and the sun started going down, but I coundn't bring myself to stop riding. Ray's pictures were nice, too, but I'm wondering where the Buell was, Ray... Do that trip in the minivan did we? Come on, you can tell us the truth. (I'm kidding, Ray) |

Big Fan of 6: Thanks, my Y2K M2 was under me, honest! Not a car anywhere near. It was a great ride too. I was a little chilly in the shade at the higher elevations but I was comfortable in a t-shirt and jeans jacket most of the ride (from 4:00 to about 9:00 pm). |

The whole gang. Spidey on his 2000 M2 Cyclone, me sitting on my 2003 XB9R Firebolt, and my 2001 P3 Blast in the middle. The Ram makes a nice backdrop. Bryan |

Niel, is that a modified S3 fairing on there? Looks bizarre. Did you slap it on there to help out on long rides or 'just because'? Bryan |

Dart, I saw Striper at Homecoming last year. It's even sweeter in person. The fairing itself is not really "modified". The windscreen is painted with the white stripe. There are driving lights mounted at the air intake vents in the front. I'm not sure how Neil mounted the whole unit to the X1. All in all, one kick ass looking ride |

I seen it during home comming too. It is mounted the same way as an S3 every Twin Buell, Except the XB9R have the mounts on the neck of the frame for the S3 faring mount. I thought about putting one on my M2 BUT... after i seen it on one i didn't really like it No offense Neil just not my cup of tea for my bike but it still looks damn good.. OHH and by the way Jeff BRINg it on , i'll smoke you out on my M2 |

Spider, I added the fairing to my M2 and it is exactly what I wanted when I first looked at the Buell's. A non $12K bike with a fairing. To me, at least, it looks like it belongs on an M2 a little more than on an X1, but all are nice. I love being able to cruise at 80mph with much less wind hitting my chest. |

I'm not saying it doesn't look good. I just don't want it on my bike cause the first Buell i fell in head over heels love with was a very pretty 95 S2 Blue with white frame and rims. But i still love the old naked S1 look. Plus too too many people have done the S3 conversion and i like my bike to look different. |

Hey Ya all, thanks for the great comments. I'm just an S3T convert that missed the protection from the wind. After 25,000 miles in 18 months, the extra protection feels goooood . The only difference in this fairing versus a stock S3 fairing is the painted windshield. I had seen the old Ducati Pantah's with the painted screens and thought this would look good on Stripe'r. So far it's unamious. My good friends in the NW helped me get it together. Bob G. did the conversion on Debbies 99' X-1 and when Stripe'r came to be mine I knew what I needed. Here's a front end shot: Anyway, Happy Birthday USA, we all stand united in our quest for justice and the freedom of the American way. Ride more, Lean more, Grin more. Neil S. |

00Bill, that's the guy that designed the -what we now believe to be- Banke shifter. He makes a whole lot of nice stuff, but he's french which explains why its not easy to do business with him and that great shifter-design was borrowed. |

You know Pammy, I need to work on a press pass and spend more time at these events (and pay better attention). Didn't get to meet Chuck, but I recall hearing Cycle Rama over the P.A. and I believe it was in reference to this scoot: Look like it? Maybe that's Chuck I cut off. I've got 111 pics to put another 'Day at the Races 2002' page with, but the day job is coming around in the A.M., so arrivederci for now. over, Steve(2) ps Spidy, thought you might enjoy that |
