On my FXDX, the old carb version, when you turn the key on a red engine light comes on. You wait for it to go out and then start the bike. The last couple of rides when I hit the starter the red engine light comes back on. Is that a sign the battery is getting weak, or do I have another problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Would need a code reader to help you. Engine light just means something is throwing a code.

A night on the battery tender and all is back to normal. Lots of short rides lately and a battery that is getting weak I think.
