Hey guys. It has been a while. So I finished up with school last Tuesday, and now that I have plenty of time I may end up selling the bike. Does anyone have any idea what an 04 12R with 13,000 miles could be sold for? Most of you guys have seen my bike, but I posted a pic anyway. It is pretty customized, but I don't expect that to really add any value. I was thinking that I would wait till late April and put it on ebay. I need to get somewhere around $5K for it to pay off the note. What do you think?

Given that it is not cosmetically stock and that typically hurts resale unless the changes are either popular aftermarket mods or pro-custom (think show-quality), my guess would be somewhere around $4500. http://www.nadaguides.com/default.aspx?LI=1-23-38- 5697-0-0-0&l=1&w=23&p=38&f=5698&m=0042&d=120001602 9&y=2004&ml=B&gc=MC>c=MC Good luck! |

I don't know....seems like you could get what you want out of it. I think it looks good enoughto get a little more out of it than just stock condition. There's one on craigslist for $6000 right now! http://kansascity.craigslist.org/mcy/586127136.htm l |

Wow its been such a long time i'm not sure if I remember my password but I did. Well my update to all is I'm about to have my second kid sometime this month. ummmm oh yeah my bike is pretty much a chopper now, only needs rear fender, paint and wiring to be finished. I think it will end up being pretty nice, at least the seat is top notch. You'll have to wait till I'm finished to see pics hopefully in the near future. |

They're popping out of the woodwork everywhere! Now all we need is Sam to post one of his many projects. Also, I picked up an 1125R today. |

Congrats on the new bike, Drake. I've been doing the same things that I have always done except that I recently bought a welder and taught myself how to weld. Pics here: http://lowflyer.smugmug.com/Machines |

Hey All, Whats up!! Well I guess it is time for all of to come out of hibernation and get ready for the warm weather. I am sure most of you know I have a kid now as well and he is doing well despite having me for a Dad lol. I have seen both JJ and Tims projects and to say the least I am jealous and they are going to look GREAT. Also JJ you have got to put up a pic of your leather work. If you all have not seen it is GREAT. I will be talking to you about one for the POS. gratuitous pic of the kid.
Drake, I want to see a pic of your new baby (1125R) too. |

Guess I no longer have the newest buell, thanks for makin me jealous drake! That seat is lookin sweet there, J. There gonna be a passenger seat for joey? Finally strapped on a black "force" exhaust on my 12 the other day, after debating it for a year. I said F-it and did it. Sounds about like sam's freight train with a dragster strapped on top...may need to get it tuned sometime, but still runs good with 14k on it! |

Don't think I'll be gettin the 1125 for now, I can't stand to look at the front fairing. Waayyyyy too big! But I really like the new guages and motor. Buell is givin out free neck gaitors (warmers), kinda like they did with the hats and sling bags or whatever. Here's a link: http://www.experiencebuell.com/Default.aspx |

Helped Matt haul the new toy home yesterday, I would have to say it is one good looking bike. Starting working on my fifty/mini 4-wheeler track this weekend. It is turning out sweet, hope to have a skid steer out in the next week or so for the jumps. Sam's new little 4-wheelers are a blast on the track's setup so far. Nothing like sliding sideways around a corner almost rolling a little kids 4-wheeler that has no suspension, lol. I'll put some pics up once it's complete. Oh probably didn't post that I bought a house last year on a little over two acres just off of Johnson Drive and Quivera. It has a 25ft by 30ft shop on it with a loft, nice little ranch style house and a bunch of trees. Oh ya and it is about 5 minuets from Sam's house. Chopper is pretty close to being done just waiting for the frame to come back from the welder so I can put it all back together. I have to say it turned out much better then even I expected. So I should have something to ride on the streets with this year. Doesn't look anything like the pics I originally posted, I'll post one up when it is all back together, who knows might change it up again. |

Oh ya Matt, JJ and I went out to River Front HD/Buell in Lawerance a few weeks ago and got the neck warmers, they are ok. If you haven't been to River Front make a trip, not many bikes but talk about Buell friendly much younger staff then your normal HD dealership. (Message edited by thansesxb9rs on March 23, 2008) |

Duff, I had the same feelings about the front fairing at first, but after riding it (now 400+ miles) I have to say its functionality is really quite nice. This is the most comfortable I have ever been on a sport bike. Plus, the looks have started to grow on me. Like you said, the new gauge cluster is pretty cool. Sometimes I think I look at it too much! The motor really starts screaming at 6-7K rpm. I have never ridden a motorcycle that can hover the front wheel 4" off the ground for so long. Power wheelies are now redefined for Buells. Tim, Good to hear all the news! Sounds like you are having fun. (Message edited by dtx on March 23, 2008) |

Ok I have owned the S1 a grand total of 36 hours give or take and I am going to do a chain converion, before it hits the streets. Now I am looking for any information and on how to do change over like what spacers or needed and if I need a idler pullies. |

Hi Matt, Call Al at American Sportbike. I think he is a guru on all such things. Helluva nice guy to talk to too. Lee BTW, why the chain? I've been sort of kicking that idea around myself. |

Thanks I have looked at their kit and it does not look to bad. I will have to give them a call. Well the main reason is that the S1 had the belt snap on the previous owner and that’s one of the reasons he was selling it. Based on the research I have looked into the belt replacement is about 5-6 solid hours from start to finish, and for me that translate2 to 12-14 after I jacked it up the first time and have to do it twice. Also the fact that one the older Buells the belts are a real B!tch to replace. I like the fact that if the chain were to break or there be any other issues it would be very easy to rethread a chain hook it back up and I am on my way. I like the look of a chain, and I like to be different. Oh yes here is a pic of the S1

WOW! I stopped riding the Uly on gravel roads due to my having snapped a belt. It was an easy change, but I don't much care for the vulnerability now. It pissed me off enough to buy a Honda XR650L specifically for gravel and dirt roads. Pics here: http://lowflyer.smugmug.com/gallery/4146814_dkDLo# 242025249 |
