To invoke great misery...

I can now say that its not a coincidence that
all their 80s (maybe more) bikes share one trait.

The easiest way to remove/install the carbs
is to drop the engine!

F*&king piece of excrement...

Sorry about the rant, but I am working on
a cruiser (which I would rather not work at
all, in fact I would rather chain it to a truck
hitch and go on the freeway).

hey,
Not true, I can pull the carbs on an 82 - 85 GPz with the engine intact. I think you're thinking of the 600s

I dated a girl who owned one of those.
It was not much of a bike.
Not my cup of tea. But we had fun on it anyway.

Way back when those bikes were newish, a buddy of mine had a LTD 454. What we did was get rid of the air box all together, so removing it was no big deal, as we weren't worried about damage to it. After we had the carbs, and air box removed, we re-jetted, and used K&N pods in place of the air box. We also lightened it by getting rid of the center stand. The front fender was replaced with a plastic one, the seat was redone to a more cafe-like seat. Cafe bars were put in place of the stock bars. There were a few other things we did, oh yeah, we used a Kerker 2 into 1 header system as well, that was the whole reason we were trying to take the carbs off...

I am just going to tell the guy to take it away...
Any work that I would have done is now void,
because he just disappeared for about 8 months...

A think a fork rebuild, new turn signals, new battery, an oil change, and storage is enough.

I just can't imagine getting one of these
willingly...
Its such a terrible little thing...

Ask Sunny about her rebuilding the 4 carbs on her VF500F Interceptor. 1984 rubber and four carbs stuck BETWEEN the "V" 4.

Glad she did the work and not me. I use up my profanity allotment much sooner than does she.

hah...
Well I think profanity is part of the
ritual...
The key is not to forget the candles and
incense.
And if the kawasaki gods are feeling
especially cruel, a human sacrifice is
required too.

The old Kaw,s needed to be stripped of all unused crap & they were easy to work on!My old KZ400 was easy to work on once I modified it.It also only weighed 320lbs.
