I bought a Stebel and was going to mount in the fly screen as shown in earlier posts. I also bought a wiring kit with the horn. I am not very adept at this kind of stiff. The lead that supposedly goes to the battery is way to short to get up to the front windscreen area and I have no idea how best to route it there even if it was long enough. Anyone have an easy way of hooking this baby up. |

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/345456.html?1206216914 You will have to run new wire from the battery to the relay. (Message edited by chrisgrant on March 22, 2008) |

I ran 2 wires, a positive fused at the battery and a ground along the main harness on the left side of the frame and zip tied it several places along the way. Be sure it doesn't rub on the sparkplug wires in that area. I was able to run mine without removing the airfilter base as some here have done. It's tight quarters, but is easier if you remove the air scoop. I used a flat 2 conductor cable similar to house wiring. This laid well along the top of the plastic loom guard that covers the harness where it runs along the frame. If you are careful and patient it can be done without too much trouble. |
