Yesterday, I ordered a NoMar wheel balancer. I've been changing my own tires for years, but I've been taking the wheels to a local shop for balancing. I was happy that they only charged me $10.00 per wheel. However; I now have three motorcycles that I will be changing tires on (my Uly, my wife's Lightning Long and my daughter's Blast), and the stand will pay for itself in short order. I looked around a bit and decided that I wanted a complete stand. I didn't want an axle with bearings that I'd have to make a stand for (like the Marc Parnes). The NoMar seemed like the best option. Good quality at a fair price. When I called, I spoke with one of the owners. She was very helpful and friendly. It's very obvious from talking to her that they take pride in their product, and are trying to make the best products possible. I was impressed enough that I've decided to buy one of their tire changers when I get my "Economic Stimulus Rebate". I've been thinking about one of the Harbor Freight changers, but by the time I buy a tire changer, motorcycle wheel adapter, set of Mojo Blocks, and a bar that won't damage the wheels, I'd be half way to the price of the NoMar, and it would still be of much lower quality. And, as cliche as it sounds, I still prefer to buy American made whenever possible. | ||

I bought one of those Harbor Freight tire changers... Mistake. The thing is really poorly made and ending up bending. I took it back. I'm in the same boat. The girlfriend rides, I ride and my dad rides, I think it would pay for itself. | ||

i didn't want wheel weights on my purdy new blue wheels, so i'm gonna give dyna beads a shot. bike's still apart and 3 or 4 more inches of global warming fell last night so i haven't got to try them yet. | ||

I have the nomar you are going to like it it works as advertised.. but dont leave it where the weather can get to it the nice finish is not weather resistant. ( the base was stored at my appartment and used as a porch table )  | ||

You got to be careful with Harbor freight... I have a lift from them... No problems so far.. Knock on wood My buddys lift actually newer than mine is a POS... | ||

My experience with Harbor Freight has been this: If you need a specific tool that will be used once and ONLY ONCE buy it at Harbor Freight. Guaranteed to work great the very first time. All following uses may or may not work. Roll the dice & see. |
