First meet is tomorrow, 3/21, at Frederick. It'll be bare-bones this time around, more of a meet-n-greet...but some cool stuff is definitely on the horizon. Might have to let some out of the bag Figure a loose start around six pm...we're open till 8 and if things are cookin' we can head to wafflehouse or something to continue. Just nobody give me s**t...I'm still stuck on the HD, doc's orders not to bend my knee too much. That, and my new back tire seems to be on Intergalactic Backorder from Michelin...so no new shoes on the S2 anyway. |

The wife and I will try and be there, may not be able to make it by 6pm due to the heavy traffic usually coming out of Sterling going that way at that time of night.. We'll be in the cage, it's too cold and she's still not ready to ride on her ankle yet. Don't all run home early or I'll just have to hold a 'meeting' with Joe, solo. Hmmmm.. News? This sounds like it could be interesting... |

Plan? You give us much too much credit, LOL. We're trying to shuffle the schedule here at work so we can keep having the meets on Friday nights since that seemed to work for most folks. Our schedule recently changed from "all hands" until close, to 2 folks going home at six...and I had forgotten that little tidbit of information when I scheduled the meet. We're working it out, and I'll have info in time for the next meet. I would like to be more "organized" next time, for everyone's sake. I'm working on a meet-agenda so I can keep us on track (we all like to talk, and get tangented pretty easily...). In the meantime, though, I'm looking forward to Sportfest on 4/12. Hopefully we'll see everyone there at one point or another Challenge "not-battletrax" course for all with their own bikes; demo rides for all with a license and gear; fun for everyone! LOL. Unfortunately I have to be at Williamsport at oh-god-what-time-is-it-AM so I won't be leading the HDF-HDW morning ride...but Special Ed from parts will be able to handle it just fine. Just don't pick on his Honda too much ;) |

Joe, If "tangented" is really a word, I'm gonna start using it all the time! i.e. "I got TANGENTED right off the damn road!" And just using it in THAT sentence, I should get plenty of use out of it.

Eric....PLEASE don't keep doing stuff like that, just to use a word that will probably get you kicked out of any decent game of Scrabble. I'd feel almost guilty, LOL. Your epic account was definitely worth the read...and I'm glad you're OK. I'm surprised you forgot to mention all the "break-in" those new leathers got though ;) |

Oh yeah, well it was late when I was typing it out. I had just bought a set of Frank Thomas leathers and was breaking them in. Now I've read alot of 'bad press' about some FT stuff, so I was actually kind of worried about how they would hold up. //OFFICIAL CRASH REPORT// //UNCLASSIFIED-MAXIMUM DISTRO// //CRASH-TEST REPORT OF FRANK THOMAS LEATHERS IS AS FOLLOWS: AT APPROX. 45-55MPH MOTORCYCLE WAS 'TANGENTED' OFF ROAD AND INDUCED CRASH USING PAVEMENT, COMPACTED DIRT, ROCKS, STICKS, RANDOM CAR PARTS AND GRASS AS THE IMPACT MEDIUM, LEATHERS PREVENTED BIKER EXFOLIANT KNOWN AS 'ROAD RASH' OVER 100% OF BIKER'S BODY./ /CONDITIONS OF LEATHERS AT POST-CRASH INSPECTION: LEATHERS WERE LIGHTLY SCUFFED. ARMOR REMAINED IN PLACE. NO RIPPING OR SEAM STITCHING DESTRUCTION FOUND./ /BIKER'S COMMENTS: "OUCH."/ /BIKER'S RECOMMENDATION: "I WOULD CRASH AGAIN WITH THESE LEATHERS."/ /THIS OFFICE RECOMMENDS THAT TEST SUBJECT BE REMOVED FROM CONTACT WITH PUBLIC AT EARLIEST OPPORTUNITY./ /END MESSAGE// (Message edited by smiley1eye on March 27, 2008) |

Double Ouch, I read your story Eric, That had to hurt! What' leathers and boots did you have on? I hope you'll be alright and you made your appointment today. Wish I had some extra part for you but the ones I took off the lightning after the housemonster smashed it weren't re usable. I'm still in Texas this weekend but I hope to ride with you soon. |

My foot is just bruised. It's feeling so much better that I just walked in to keep my appointment and told them that there was nothing for them to do now. When I was hurting, they didnt help, and now that I feel better they can see me... yeah... Had on Frank Thomas two piece. Jacket-FTL218 pants-FTL233 boots were just some tough insulated ones that the Army gave me. Pretty good boots actually. Big ol shootkickers. If you want to ride with me Bearly, ya might wanna bring a cellphone with ambulance and tow truck numbers in it. And you want to have a camera rolling from the time my engine ticks over. Ya just never know when the NEXT big thing is about to happen to me.

I'll be out tomorrow riding round the Frederick area with a newbie on a BlK R6 (he'll come over to the dark side soon enough - he really likes my XB9SLR), so all rider levels are welcome. Might just run my circuit several times and in different directions to change it up. We may even make a trek up 17. Not sure about pace yet, my knee is still sore from dropping my dirtbike 2 weeks ago. I went out for a short ride Tues and it was a bit uncomfortable, I'd prefer to be on the Bea5t but I still need tires for it. We'll see how it goes... The plan is to meet at the Sheets in front of the airport at 10 am. I'll post if anything changes. This new job sux, I get practically 0 BWB time now. Between work and the band I've had little time for riding. Smiley1eye, glad to hear you came out of that practically unscathed. ATGATT! |

I won't be able to make a ride this weekend as I'm at Summit Point Sunday and Monday and have to take my bike 'not street legal' Saturday prior to heading out.. Anyone that's out and wants to come by, I'll be at the Shenandoah on Sunday, with my 'high tech' pit set up (Ford Explorer with open two rail Kendon trailer) if I'm not on track, I'll usually be sitting in the luxurious open lift gate of the exploder.. and of course my 1125R - Yes, the leathers are in the profile pic (or at least a version of them).. Eric, we'll have to get you lined up with some Sidi's (boots like I have) and maybe a pair of Held Phantoms (gloves) to go with your leathers.. A little costly yes, but remember, the last thing you should skimp on is protective gear. As you well know... It'd be a lot more then a few broken bike parts if you'd been wearing your 'certified squid' gear.. I look forward to seeing and riding with everyone sometime soon..

Got Shirts? We finally (!) got in some of our 25th Anniversary tees, as well as a bunch of other Buell tees. Hope to see some of you out and about this weekend, even if it's just to rub my face in how nice it is out while I'm stuck at work, LOL. |

bluxb, I had to do some reading as I'm replacing the exhaust, ecm, plugs, wires coil .... and whatever else I see needs some new shine to it, so the bike is in pieces. Middle of next week I should be done. |

Ratbuell, I'll be in sometime tomorrow to pick up a shirt. I'm buying tires tonight, I decided to get another set of Pirelli Stradas - the Michelins are hard to find at a good price. Hopefully they'll be in this week. How much time in advance do you guys need for a tire change (I'll bring the wheels and tires like last time)? |

I'm sorry to hear that this may be a usual event? Should I ride in back or front? :-). Naw, I look forward to it, it's all good. You'll have to wait around for me anyway. Hey what blublak was saying about the Sidi boots: I have a pair and love them. I haven't crashed in them yet, but I love the exoskeleton that they have to protect my foot. |

Ferris, it very well could've been me. I do know of one other guy I met in that very area last year though. He's got a blue R. Don't remember his name though. At the time, he was the only guy I'd ever seen on a Buell. Could've been him too, but I was there for a bit on Thursday. I'm guessing from that profile pic you and I might have a similar job. I've seen that very thing with my own eyes once or twice. Sucked then too. Once my ride gets put back together, we'll have to head out for a short ride. I'll let you know when it happens. |

Xb12xscpa, I love that Micron Exhaust, I have it on the Uly. Bluxb9sx, I'm using a map that I got from Al at American Sport Bike. Actually he loaded it on a spare ecm that I had. Works great for the Micron. Oh Nice day today, I'm catching the flu but I couldn't stay in. Back way up to Point of Rocks, Ballenger Creek Road up to Frederick. Then back to 464 to Brunswick and the Berlin back to Purcellville. Perfect day! |

Ratbuell, do you have any of these hats in stock?
Any neck gaitors left? The perfect plan would be to get a ball cap, neck gaitor and camelback all in one 5 hour round trip. Yes, it's 2 1/2 hours each way to your dealership. I could fax the voucher ahead of time and have you hold it for me. |

Unfortunately I ran out of gaiters about a month ago I didn't even get one for myself... Don't have the camelbaks yet either, that doesn't start till 4/15 and all I've received so far is the signs announcing it. Hm. Third strike, no hat either. I do have the 25th tees (finally) and a bunch of other tees...but the hat would have to be special-ordered. LMK if you'd like me to order one. |
