Has anyone made their own clutch tool to take the pressure off the spring? I'm looking at the pictures of the tool and it seems like 4" pipe, washers, a coupler, nuts and bolts are all what's needed. I'm not sure, though, how the coupler, bolt and nut would be assembled to take pressure off the retaining ring. If anyone has made one can you educated me? If you have pictures even better. If anyone wants to sell an old one then PM me. Thanks. | ||

Absolutely it's worth the hassle. A penny saved is a penny earned, right? Just made one today, actually. Should've taken pics. Here's a quick drawing.  | ||

Almost forgot....need to cut out holes in the compression plate to get a wrench around the nut that's threaded onto the adjusting screw to keep it from turning as you apply pressure. Can also use a bearing, as shown in the repair manual, in place of the washer. Select a longer/ shorter bolt as necessary. | ||
