sorry bout that man, I got shipped out kinda quick and was supposed to be home already. I'll be home sometime today, depending on what time I get home I may be able to swing it by tonight. If not then definitely tomorrow. |

I just finished getting everything back together and Scotty helped me get it out of the basement...he was hanging around to hear the home brewed version of a Drummer fire up...

Jim can over to sort out his rear brake bleeding procedure and......We tried the Duc.It'd ran this afternoon around the neighborhood.Jim&I rode towards Somerset from here and,I'm fine to ride the Duc.Weatherwise i'm fine....Prepared for anything above 25f.

NEBO gang. I've been hiding for awhile. Some of you remember me from the USS Constitution tour. Well, I was dead set on getting me a Buell XB but after a few months (since the tour) I was not able to find anything within driving distance in my price range. I searched and searched and didn't find the Buell I wanted so I sucked it up and got the next best thing (in my opinion). A 2002 Honda Superhawk. Still a V-twin just not a Buell. I'm happy with the buy. The bike is pristine. The biggist deciding factor was my price range and the limited selection of used Buells in the Northeast. Hope nobody here shuns me. I'd still like to lurk here and maybe catch a few rides with the group when the weather warms up. I'll even ride in the back so onlookers don't know I'm with the group. Excuse the bad photos. All I have for now.

Thanks guys, It's 1000cc. Sounds great and runs nice and smooth. Very cold blooded though. Below 40 and those two big slugs fight the starter and it doesn't want to start. It needs to get warm here soon. |

Good to be out with the crew again, but WTF is up with all the cops today? We saw several buzz past JP's, then on the way home from Grafton I saw two traffic stops and three on patrol! Praise the Gods for radar detection (close call x3). And I understand Jim had a nice roadside conversation with one as well? |

yup he was threatening to arrest me for having 3 road violations at once, speeding, following too close and lane splitting.
The trooper that originally pulled me over had to leave and a second trooper took over. Both had me freezing on the side of the road for about 1/2 hour. The second trooper starts giving me crap too but not as bad as the first. He told me that the first trooper told him to write me up for everything but he was "bike-friendly" and only wrote me up for a lane violation, lane splitting =$75. I told the second trooper that the first was REALLY reaching on that charge and that there was no reason for me to lane split on an open highway. He told me to appeal then and I'm going to do just that.
Jack...... Good to see ya on the board again!!!! Nice bike too!! Hopefully you can get out with us this summer. |

Onto another topic.After being let down by the 996 low battery yesterday(it was at12.5 and wouldn't crank over fast enough to ignite),this morning after overnight charging measured 13.4 volts and started up ok.Voltage rises with RPM(BaggerMike,comments?)to about 13.8 volts.The charging seems ok.THe 3 year old battery seems weak.Looking at battery options now.
Otherwise,running fine |

Hey gang, I am looking for a little advice if someone can give me some info.
I have an xb9r and over the winter I put a buell pro series exhaust, k&n, chopped up the airbox, and re-routed the breather hoses.
I was out for about 3 hours today and there were a couple things that I wasn't sure if I should be worried about. There is a lot of slight backfiring when I let off the throttle (I can of like the sound of it) and I get a skip, or like hick up between 2-3000 rpm's when accelerating. I have the bike idling at about 900-1000rpm any higher it doesn't return fast enough.
The bike is all stock besides. I appreciate any opinions. thanks guys. |

You're running the stock street ECM, right? If so, it's an easy fix: We can remap your ECM for you, but will need to know what year it is. I can "borrow" the fuel map from the race ECM in my wife's CityX. The whole process should take about 45 minutes, with writing the map being the time consuming part. Or you can do it all yourself with about $25 for an ECM cable, a free download or two, and a whole lot of reading.
But we're busy prepping for MBV, so we can't hook you up until we're back (next week).

2 more down in suches today!......you guys are gonna have to be gentle with me, i got the jitters and i got zero seat time as of right now not how i wanted to enter this trip! gonna be slow goin till me and the old girl can gel again. the weather is killin me every day we get a little melt and every afternoon the shit ices right back up and out come the sanders making it impossible to ride at all. i really didn't won't to go into this cold. |
