Exactly!!! Well, my quotes are coming in now. I'm looking at about $3K to get the bike over here...then pay a customs agent, cost TBD, then pay customs and registration... I'll keep you posted but I think it's going to come in at about $10K...now I need to decide if that's acceptable |

You too Rotorhead. When are you heading over? I am leaving early Thursday. Gonna go the back way instead of going through Chattanooga. |

I have to work out the details with the wife still but I can work it out to ride over on thursday. With the kids still in school I will meet up with her on friday night in ATL. With no set schedule I am not pressed for time to get over to TWO. Over the river and through the woods is the choice route for me. I will get back to you on what the wife has to say about leaving thursday. |

Already thinking that way...it should be right around norwegian easter vacation time so it may work out perfectly!!! Don't think I'm going to try and bring my uly over here...finally got all the costs worked out and it's a bit higher than I expected. While I could still sell it for a bit more than I can stateside, I'm not getting a "warm and fuzzy" about the buell market over here... Just reduced the price over on the Buy/Sell thread to $8200...we'll see if that generates any interest... |

Ratyson, Do you have a cable that works with ECMSPY? I have a extra ECM that Iwant to play around with just wondering if you have a cable or know someone local that does. |

Rotorhead- Dave down in Birmingham may be able to help you out. He helped me out with a cable a while back and checks this page occasionally I think... Short of that...there's guaranteed to be at least 2 or 3 of them at MBV. Alot of the guys have their sw on PDAs and carry it with them to the ride-in. I was able to reset my TPS on-site. Hope that helps. GL |

Rotorhead, funny you should ask. I just put my ecmspy cable together today. I have not yet tried it, but I plan on doing that by the weekend. |

Where did you get the stuff to build it online or local shops? I looked at 2 local places and they couldn't help me. i have the next few days off and wanted to tincker a bit with the bike. I need my own cable so I think I will just go ahead and get the stuff online. Let me know how yours works. I'm mechanically incline not electrically so I'm stepping into the unknown to build a cable and talk to my motorcycle. |

I ordered the parts online. The Deutsch connector can be ordered from here: http://www.deutschconnector.com/products/deutsch_d t_4-way_connectors.html The part that you want is the DT06-4S-Assy This comes with the sockets, housing, and the locking wedge. The cable can be ordered from here: http://www.mouser.com/ The part number is: 26-DLP-TTL232R Instructions for building the cable can be found here: http://www.ecmspy.com/steckermontage.shtml |

I have the clearance from the wife to leave when ever I want?? ( whats in it for her I haven't figured it out) I just have to pick her up from Douglasville on friday morning. What time are you able to leave on Thurs and are you traveling with your wife out there? There is a group meeting in Marrysville TN lunch and leave by 1:00 pm and riding down the Gap or the Cherrycola to suches. I know it is out of the way but figured it is a great day ride up there and down for a start to MBV?? http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/341967.html?1205887169 I have done that loop in one day from here long day in the saddle but I'm willing to give it a ride if you are. But I don't want to slab ride up there either. |

My plan was to leave the house around 7:30 - 8:00 am thrusday morning. I am caging it with the bike on the trailer (at the wife's request). Plus, I like to carry all my tools and camping gear. And in the worst case, if the bike is not in a condition to ride home at the end of the weekend, I like to have a backup plan. I was planning to go the back way instead of going through Chattanooga. If I was riding instead, the Maryville route would be tempting. |

Cool! I should be there... I say should, because both the wife and I are sick at the moment.. If she is better by then I will be going, if not, I am not going to leave her with the baby all weekend being sick. So far, things are looking ok, but I will have to see how things go come thursday morning. (Message edited by ratyson on March 24, 2008) |

I took 52 to 515 to 60 into Suches. Actually I was going the other way. When I got to Blue Ridge at the light one of my lens popped out of my glasses. Due to the funky vision 52 from Ellijay into Dalton was not so much fun as it could be. driving one eye cut the fun route out and I took 75 and 24 home before dark. Route 52 is a great ride with some good pull off's. I don't know if I would trailer my bike with a WRX up it but once up the mountian it would be OK. Any way I would deffinately approch suches from the north with a trailer no matter what the tow vehicle is. I'm leaving tomarrow to meet up in maryville with a few folks. I'll keep an eye out for you!! BTW you have my alter ego's car!! you should take that thing for a drive up and down rt 60. That car was made for that road!! I have had 2 SUB's and the wife never let me get the WRX. Your wife may be able to keep pace behind you all weekend. |

Yeah, I was going to do a couple of loops around suches last year in it. Every once in a while I head over to paint rock up hwy 65 in it. I just got new tires for the WRX on Saturday... they may need some scrubbing in once I get to Suches! The route I am looking at goes up GA232, a few turns to GA515, then 60 south to Suches. The way I usually go gets me to Cumming, GA, then I take 400N to 60N to Suches. I would end up going south, in order to go North. The WRX tows that thing like it's nothing. The only time I notice it is back there is under breaking. The first time I did it, I was headed from Scottsboro, over the bridge on 35, took a left to go up the mountain and figured I would have some trouble with the steep grade... But no problems at all, in fact I ended up passing a pickup on the way up. As long as you keep it above 3000 rpm (where the turbo is spooling best), it's like buttah! The Wifey is actually going to stay in Huntsville instead of joining me in Suches. She didn't think she would have much fun (she is not at all into bikes... she just understands that it is something that I love to do). (Message edited by ratyson on March 26, 2008) |

Have I mentioned you guys stink!?!?! It was -9C here this morning and I'm looking out my window at about 12 inches of snow sitting on the ground... On another note...I may have found the perfect deal from Uly...my cousin wants to buy it. He gets an insanely reduced rate (cough), and it stays close to home in the family. The only stipulation is I get to ride it when I'm home! MBVI here we come! You guys have fun this weekend...stay safe. |

Cool deal Scott! The weekend was wet... very wet. It drizzled just a bit on Friday. Saturday it started at about 9:30 am, and didn't really stop until about 3pm... Then the fog set it, and it was THICK! So, needless to say, I didn't get much riding in. But I still have a great time meeting folks and catching up with some that I met last year. I am going to try to get out there in October. Oh, and Jon Flickinger was there. He is the President/COO of Buell. Nice guy. I really hope that HD Corporate does not try to take this over. I don't see that going anywhere good if they do. I was a little irritated at one point. He was doing kind of a Town Hall thing in the barn. He said "We should all give Stone Mountain HD/Buell a big hand for getting March Badness going, and putting this show on". I was like... wha!!?? Stone Mountain HD/Buell had nothing to do with starting March Badness. They were INVITED by the 3%ers to do the demos. But now HD corporate are going to stroke their egos thinking that it was one of their own that thought the whole thing up. I guess it was just a matter of time. He never even recognized any of the Badweb folks who busted their keesters trying to put this thing together. I am beat, and I really don't want to be at work today... Rotorhead, it was nice to meet you, although our meeting lasted all of about 5 seconds! I meant to catch up with you after dinner, then Sunday morning, but you guys had already left by the time I got down there. You must have skeedatled early! |

We split abotu 930 or so after b-fast at the gas station. He had a good spread all you can eat. I did ride a ways last weekend 1268 miles start to finish. I rode Sat in the rain and Sunday I got home just before the rain hit Huntsville. the wind was hell all day but was still good to ride home. I'm glad I wasn't at camp when that guy thanked SMHD. BadWEB is a owner operated deal and MBV was owner organized. If that changes I will not attend any event sponsored by a dealer or factory. That is why I don't think I will go to homcoming. it is a factory hipe thing more than a rider thing like MBV is. Buelltoberfest is already on the calander!!!!! My wife was completely impressed with the people at MBV as was I. ATGATT was a way of life for a Buell owner. (even while drinking around the fire) This was the fist time riding with other folks as a group and it was well worth it. I learned that Beull owners are in it for the RIDE and not the hype. I met 3 guys at B-fast on Sat and we planned a ride waiting to get in the door. Coolest ride I ever rode with perfect strangers. We ended up spending the whole day together it was cool to just hang and ride. Friday night everyone was nice and quited down by 1130 and most were up ready to ride by 800 the next day. Untill Sat night when a group of Harley guys were up half the night drinking. when I get a free weekend I will get a hold of you if you want to burn a tank off gas some sat morning. |
