I broke my wrist a while back and when I am on the race track, 5 laps in, or long rides, I can't pull in the clutch because my wrist starts to give out. Is there anything I can do to make my clutch easier to pull in. A lot of my friends say that my clutch feels alot harder than there clutch. They all have Jap bikes. I am the only Buell in my group. Any suggestions I'd appreciate.

Buells have a hard clutch, plain and simple. The 06 and newer models are a little softer. There are kits that can reduce clutch effort, i am looking one up for you.

The Muller Power Clutch will make a big difference, plus keep the cable lubed well.

Give Al a shout - the Mueller gets good reviews. I'd be afraid of the hydraulic clutch as another system needing more maintenance (because I'm lazy)

I've put the heaviest spring I can into my XB clutch (hard starts can get it to slip for a lap or so) and had raced it 2 weeks after hand surgery. I don't use clutch except start and for downshifting but that day, I had to use "straight-arm" clutch.

I bought a Clutchlite (soft) ball ramp for about $30 +/- and it made a difference on my 05. I could post up a link when I get home if you're interested.

Muller Power Clutch is really good, installs in ~15 minutes. Costs ~$150. I believe that Al at American Sport Bike sells them.

Good info. I would add that you go see a sports medicine doctor at your soonest for an evaluation and some range of motion and strengthening exercises. Will pay huge dividends in 20-30yrs.
Ride safe, have fun, Dave

One quick fix that is usually overlooked is lubing the cable the FULL length. They make a little device with 2 thumb screws that clamps over the lever end of the cable. Pick your favorite cable lube and just like magic, things are MUCH smoother and easier. It's worth the $10 for the adapter and a can of lube. Besides, your cable will last almost fore ever.

This is the one you need for our clutch cables: http://store.uncommonmotorcycles.com/cableluber.html

I saw Al's hydraulic clutch installed on his American Sport Bike Uly. Nice looking kit - but to my way of thinking, more complication than needed to ease the clutch force.

Also, having broken my right wrist and 3 fingers on left hand, I'd recommend structured PT to get range of motion and strength back without damage.

Im planning on using some of my tax return on something to reduce the force needed to pull the clutch in. My hand really starts to wear out in stop and go traffic. Does anybody have pictures of how these types of kits install?

Custom Chrome Makes the Clutchlite

Google Clutchlite and you'll find it at a ton of places that have it..

I got one off ebay hopefully this weekend I'll get a chance install it..

35-40 dollars is a lot better than 169.00

I'd have to do a search but, wasn't there an issue with the Clutchlite? Had a mental note to steer clear of that unit.

Another cheap option is the Free Spirits Soft Clutch, only around $40 and works great. I've got a full season on mine with zero issues. I think Trojan runs one in their race bike too.

i have installed the free spirits soft clutch on my xb12r and have had no issues with it. took about 15 minutes to put in. it was so simple, i took it apart and did it again to make sure i didn't skip a step. definitely shaves off about 30% of the effort.

The Mueller item is top quality and absolutely reduces clutch lever effort 30-40%. No more than 15 mins to install. Remember you get what you pay for. Not saying anything bad about the cheaper units but there has to be a reason they are so much more inexpensive (eg: Taiwan).

Believe it or not, simply replacing the clutch cable will do a world of good. The new cables are teflon or UHDP coated, which really helps minimize friction. Coupled with an 06 clutch spring and a Mueller power clutch, you'll be amazed at the difference.

I ran the hydraulic clutch on my 06 Uly and liked it a lot. But you can't use the hand guards with the Hydraulic clutch, haven't solved that one yet. Good news is I finally have a bunch on the way, we had some stocking issues for a while. I'll be putting one on my 08 once I yank the hand guards.
