2000 X1 I'm not concerned about tire life, whats the best soft compound tire for a X1? I know going to a 180 doesn't work and its a back up bike for track days so I want sticky. Thanks in advance |

I'm not concerned about tire life, whats the best soft compound tire for a X1? I love my Pirellis... I have a nice pic somewhere of them well scuffed up to the sidewall... They are the Daible Super Corsa.. I know going to a 180 doesn't work and its a back up bike for track days so I want sticky. Uh, I been running a 180 on there since day one... Even had a 190 for a while(though, I didnt like the way it felt)... Chase |

Thanks, I got ansy and pulled the trigger this am on Michelin Pilot Powers, I have Power Race mediums on my R6 race bike and they've treated pretty well. the 180's on stock mags have got mixed responses from what I've seen over the years so I'm good with 170. Thanks again |

180 rear tomahawk, only have a 200 miles on her or so, but for the price (75 bucks!) the tire seems very nice. |

Seems like a DOT approved race spec tire is in order. You can get pretty sticky with those. |

Since on thing I need is tires that work cold, I avoid race compound tires. You have to decide your priorities, they might be fine for you. I'm going with Diablo Rosso's this year, & will report. |

Just put a set of BT014s on a customers XB12r he likes them alot but still want's to run the Dunlop Qualifier on the track(he says it's the stickiest quicker)but it dosen't have the lifespan for the street. |

agreed on race compound dot tires for street, normal riding wouldn't get to temperature where they'd work. I have the Michelins mounted and once temp is over 50 I'll take for ride. |

i put on a metzler sportec on the rear last fall and man that tire sticks great and I am talking some city riding and some country rides. I am about to put a new one on the front too. From what I have seen people like they way they stick its a sport tire rather than a touring tire. Best price is at the motorcycle superstore.com. I think Metzler is phaseing out the sportec line so these maybe a bargain compared to other stuff, i dont know. |
