Where are you in CA, Jim? I grew up in SoCal: Chino, then moved to the San Bernardino Mtns. You could swing by my folks house where the martinis flow like water! Edit: You're probably in San Fran. Cuz you're gay. (Message edited by Scotty_J on March 15, 2008) |

Umm,did someone say "Martinis"??? I picked up some "HH" rear pads for the Duc this morning.Went to Vanson to get patches sewn.THEY ONLY SEW ON VANSON PRODUCTS!!.I told them this was my first visit and that they "Blew it" with me as a future customer. They told me if i fell down with a Vanson sewn patch and my leather ripped i might sue them.YEAH....Riiiight and if my tire pops and i go down i can sue Pirelli.Or if my helmet cracks when i go down i can sue Shoie...Screw Vanson, they can die and rot. |

Greg- I went through similar BS with Vanson. I wanted a custom tailored Buell/Vanson jacket, but they wouldn't fit me for it in Fall River; they said the stealership would have to fit me if I wanted a BUell patch on it. WTF?! I got my custom- tailored jacket from Walter Dyer and they did most of the patches. Then when I added another one (like I needed it, yeah, right) I used a dude in Natick-- "Cobbler Shop West," 14 Pond St. Some crazy Russian guy with the right machine for leather. |

NO....they blew it.Slammed the door in my face. Can't come back from that no way,no how.I'd spoken very highly of them in the past as an American manufacturer, their response blew me out of the water....Or so to speak. I've BEEN quiet because i just cannot make MB-V.It certainly WOULD have been a hoot re-living last years episode FOR SURE.I'll miss it,and hope to ride with you guys' in the near future. Now,i need to find a tailor(closer than Natick?)to sew our patches. Enjoy the White-Lightning |

Greg the tailor down the street did mine, Joe the Tailor in Taunton. Took about a week or so to get done. He stitched up 2 patches, 1 on each sleeve of my riding leather. I have a couple of more that I need him to do. I'm going to drop them off when I get back into town. |

I like Vanson Leathers. I ain't read nutin here to sway my opinion the other way. Blame the lawyers. I own a Vanson jacket, an every patch on it was done for free. |

All I'll say is...I wouldn't expect Vanson to want to work on other peoples jackets...they are in business to sell their product...they aren't a general tailer. It's a brand thing...not a a-hole thing... I'm not saying it doesn't suck or that you didn't get a bad taste in your mouth from them...I just wouldn't have gone there for that purpose. Find an old Italian guy with a heavy duty sewing machine for leather...you'll get better work done there anyway...especially repair work! |

Oh yeah...if you did go down because you Perreli's went flat...and you tried to sue them...I bet you wouldn't be the first one. One of the biggest problems for businesses these days...the courts let anybody sue the company...even if it's blatant stupidity and operator error. Didn't that lady know she ordered a hot coffee? Didn't she know that hot coffee was/is HOT! The tuna company got sued for more than a million 'cause some parent let thier 8 year old try to open the tuna can...the dumb parents won! |

+1... I used to work for Sam's Club. Our property management company put speed bumps in the crosswalk in front of the store. It took about three days before some l'il old lady tripped on it and went down. Did she sue the property manager? Of course not: everybody knows WalMart's got some big pockets and likes to stay squeaky clean in the media! She sued us and we settled out of court for an "undisclosed sum." Any lawyers in here that we can make fun of? |

Hey, have you guys ever tried that peanut butter & jelly stuff that comes together in the same jar? Maybe it's just me but the peanut butter tasted odd to me, the jelly flavor is fine, but the peanut butter is definitely off. Do you suppose it could have anything to do with the type of bread I'm using? I usually use white bread, but all I currently have is some whole wheat. By the way, don't ever put liverwurst on pumpernickel bread. That just doesn't work. Unless it was just the spicy mustard doing weird things. Admittedly, I usually spread yellow mustard on liverwurst. What kind of pickles do you guys like? I'm a bread & butter guy, but sour garlic pickles are real good too. |
