I was checking my front rotor the other day and noticed it was loose (at the 9 or so points on the actual rotor, not where it attaches to the wheel). The manual tells me to should go bolt: E Clip: rotor: wave washer: flat washer: nut. The problem I have is that the E clip is missing and I can't find one anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find those? I even read that these are supposed to be floating? It just doesn't seem right. Expert advice greatly appreciated. |

Actually that was changed and the e-clips were replaced with bolts and a washer stack. If you get a chance send me a pic and your VIN and I'll do some snooping about and see if we can get you some run out specs and part numbers. Easy fix. |

My 1999 S3 manual has ;lateral deflection measurements exceed .100", the carrier is consider excessively worn and must be replaced. If the rotational free-play exceeds .05", the carrier is considered excessively worn and must be replaced. From Section 2.17 Joe |
