Alright!!! Made some progress today! Finish wiring tank bag - CHECK http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/339295.html?1205442665 Install LED Voltage meter - CHECK http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/335986.html?1202653245 Take jacket in to add patches - CHECK Buy Camera - CHECK http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=M odelInfoAct&fcategoryid=145&modelid=14901 I'm extremely happy with the tank bag! Now I can: 1) Power GPS 2) Power Ipod (or XM) 3) Charge camera battery or cell phone All at the same time, without any wiring to deal with, it's all stashed away nicely in a pocket in the bag. And the LED voltage meter works great too! I wired it directly to the back of the speedo, so I didn't need to cut or splice any factory wiring. (Message edited by mikef5000 on March 13, 2008) |

You should just fly that, OUTSTANDING if I do say so myself, 1125R Inside Pass banner behind the bike when your riding? Atleast to MB, then cut it off after that so it doesn't get wrapped around any trees while in the twisties |

Jerry - Here's the abbreviated route - there's like 75 turns, so I won't list every single road, but you'll get the jist... Out of Albany via NY30, then to I-81 Then I take VA15 to Culpeper, then VA29 At Greensboro, SC I hop on I-85 to GA17 Then 23, 105, 115, 129 and 60 into Suches. |

Jerry - Here's the abbreviated route... Bill, i'm really, really new to Virginia (and the East Coast) and i'm no expert on the roads around here yet. that said, within the past two weeks Denise and i happened to travel VA29 between Charlottesville/I-64 and Ruckersville (junction of 29 and 33) to the north (then later re-traced our steps), and this section was pure hell, traffic congestion that made Los Angeles look like pre-school. i know this doesn't help much in the overall scheme of your things, but i hope to NEVER have the occasion to travel that section of 29 again. the rest of 29 southbound i have no idea, sorry. i know you've got a lot of ground to cover, and i don't know how much time you have (if you're like most of us, you've got to git 'r done, as it were). maybe there are other folks on this thread who know their way around these parts better than i do? 221 south from Roanoke is pretty good stuff... I'd say it does take an hour to do that loop, when you do as I do and go the posted speed limit. If you don't do as I do, it'll take about 40 minutes if you're quick down 60, haul ass down 19, you're non-stop hard on the gas going up Blood Mountain, have a clear run at Wolf Pen, and you're flying down 180, not that I would know... |

Oldog, when are you arriving? Friday some time, I have not decided if I am riding or trucking it in, I am leaning to ward trucking it as a mishap could leave me stranded and I have "history" in the area. I'm Staying At C3 central my former neighbor & fellow hooligan Lee Sample will be my room mate, I am sooo looking forward to meeting all of the folks that make this place a hoot! Where are you going to be Ferris? |

Jerry - Thanks for the heads up. I have two days to make the trek (each way), and as I said before, I'd rather stay off interestates as much as is reasonable. I'll take a look at 221 and see how it effects the timing. The route I posted is 17:30 driving time, so it'd be a solid 2 day trip... I can't stretch it much further than that. The plus side is I-81 runs not far from the route I have right now, so if traffic gets bad, I can always hop on there for a few miles to get around it. |

My bike is bin making a lot of valve noise lately after several times in and out of the shop they’re now telling me it normal. I don’t want to talk about that in this thread I just wandering if some one with a stock 07 fire bolt who is going to MB would be willing to let me ride it for a mile or 2 to see what others sounds like. Thanks (Message edited by paulxb12r on March 14, 2008) |

Where are you going to be Ferris? i'll be somewhere... Jerry - Thanks for the heads up...I'll take a look at 221 and see how it effects the timing. Mark, i wasn't suggesting making a "special" effort to ride 221, just that it's a nice highway that would keep you pointed in the right general direction if you happen to end up in that area. you've got right at a thousand miles between you and Suches, and in two days you can't afford many delays time-wise and still be riding in daylight. i don't blame you for wanting to avoid the interstate, but 2000 miles in four days' riding time is pretty aggressive and doesn't leave much time for "wandering around" on secondary roads. what day are you planning on arriving in Suches? Torque, Thurs we'll probably be local. Maybe play tourist in the Dalonaga area... or there are some good roads that lead over to S.C... or just ride the loop, the extended loop, reverse the loop... whatever works!! |
